De-indexed Blogs
« on: February 20, 2012, 07:31:02 AM »
Just did a random check on a couple of the blogs and found they have been de-indexed by G.

Are there tools in place to check this and remove them from the network?

They are periodically reviewed and removed, yes.

I have came across a L-O-T of blogs being deindexed in the last month.
I'm also feeling lower impact of 1waylinks on my sites.  Now, I know it's not specifically 1way links, blog networks are starting to "burn out" one by one...

That's because of the new quality standards we put in place. The Panda is happier. :)

Words aside,acts aside.
This is not what's happening right now. You can't really ignore that blog networks are dieing slowly.
I'm not saying 1waylinks isn't good (It was awesome!) just now it starts to really loose her power as many others loose theirs.

Blog networks been on top for quite some time now, and soon there will be a change...  ;)

Blog networks should be an element of your link building. Always good to diversify your link sources. Having said that I've ranked keywords solely with 1WL. I suppose it depends how competitive your market is. Link building at this level is only ever going to be strong enough to rank medium to low competition targets. Long-tail stuff.

Nah, that's just what google wants you to believe. It's still all about the links:

perhaps Jon .. but other networks have certainly taken hits -- i've seen it myself on some sites.

Google still looks links .. but it also likes to spot patterns and knock out networks.

Ironically this doesn't actually improve their search results - but they still do it.

I've got a feeling that the links from these de-indexed blog networks are still good to go, just because G showes us they are de-indexed, are you going to belive the links really have no value? I bet G would love it if they could make us think that. I bet they have moved these networks into their 'older supplemental index' (the one that does not exist any more ...yeah). I don't belive G would ignor all of these blog networks because they could all to easily miss out important information that may be in these blog networks. G might need them just as much as we do.

A few scare blog posts from Matt C, shift some blog posts into a different database and send some threatening messages to webmaster tool accounts ...

its time to test this, I am going to promote a new site with a blog network that is de-indexed, just to see what happens ...

Will post back soon!

I just noticed one of my blogs is deindexed on 1wL.  Also another blog has gone from 5500 indexed pages to 2000 indexed pages.  Should I remove the one blog that has been deindexed?  I do notice that google crawls the blog everyday.

If google returns nothing on a site: query then I believe the 1WL system will detect this and notify you at some point. You will need to get the blog removed though, yes.
