If the posts have videos, pictures and other forms of media along with well written content then there is even less of a chance that the page or the blog will be deindexed.... Not to mention if the blogs ever get reviewed by Google's quality raters it makes the sites look more legit and not just a bunch of posts with 3 links in them..
Text alone is boring to humans. People like to see nice pictures, videos etc. to go along with well written text. I see no reason why video can't be added unless you just don't want to do it.
Adding video and possibly pictures increases:
- on page optimization
- Time on site
- chances of getting links
- page views
- lower bounce rate
All of that coupled together will send many positive signals to Google that the page is legit and of higher quality. All I see are positives.... Also since Panda Google is looking more at user engagement metrics.. if page views increase, if bounce rate decreases, if time on site increases then this increases user engagement metrics which will in turn increase the sites quality, rankings and shelf life of the site..
So can we get some media instead of just plain ol', boring, heavily edited text? If your all about quality and making the posts stick then adding more media to the pages will increase the quality. I know of a few other networks that allow this.. Just wondering why were still in the stone ages of content creation..
Jon I respect you (heck I've been following you since you first came online) and I value 1WL (I've been in the system since beta). I'm just trying to generate some ideas on how to increase the quality of the posts and blogs... Just text.. no matter how high quality the text is and a few links is boring and anyone can easily tell what the blogs are being used for, but if other forms of media are added it's less subtle.
