Hi Jon

Currently it is possible to look up where our links are placed by going to the 3WL Backend and clicking on the inbound links.
Then we can visit the domains resource page and click through all pages until we find our link as the sub page where our link is located is not given.
This is a very time consuming process and makes testing whether our links are indexed extremely difficult.
Please change the "URLs of live links in" section to show the actual page instead of only the resource file.
eg htxp://www.linkingdomain.com/otherinterestingresources.php?pn=8 instead of only htxp://www.linkingdomain.com/otherinterestingresources.ph

This would make it a lot easier to check whether our links are actually indexed and to build extra links to our linking pages - a measure that would benefit the whole network as more links to linking pages would strengthen the linking power of the resource pages.

@everyone: Please comment on this post whether you want to see something like this, too.
I don't want Jon to bother with a problem if I am the only one who wants to see this improvement to 3waylinks.

Mike

Sounds to me like a good idea. We can put our 1WL links into RSS feeds, post them on our high PR sites and otherwise promote the links. Why not have the same capability for 3WL?

It would be useful to be able to do the same kind of promotion with 3WL links. And if it is not too hard to do, it would likely be a win-win for everyone, link placers and link holder/receivers alike.

Hi Jorge,

As you and Mike both know, I have no idea what you are talking about!

What I want to know is did you send that PM??

You are correct about having to look for the url.

What I do now is when they start coming end I just
go to the last page and find my link. If I wait until
all the links are posted then I am in trouble. Would
have to look through every page.

Your suggestion would be great. I wouldn't have to
keep checking the urls that are being posted each
week.

That is a good idea when starting - problem is, I have quite a few domains in the system since a long time. Your suggestion comes too late for me ;-)
I Think it could help a lot of us, if we had an easy way to check our links. In the long run, this would probably increase the effectiveness of the network as misconfigured sites would be erased from the network more quickly.

Yes this is a very good suggestion and something I've wanted to email support for a while now, especially now that Jon is giving us 500 sites.

So Jon, if you're reading this thread: We need the EXACT url where each of our links is found, eg. resources-page13.php instead of resources.php

This would aid in getting more backlinks and indexing to these exact urls.

I hope this is not abig deal to program because actually the data should be in the database anyways. Now if Jon has put more focus on 3waylinks again anyways, this might come as a little extra bonus? Please Jon, give us a little present - we all promise we'll behave well until Santa comes ;-)

It's not HARD to code, it would just have to hit the database A LOT on that page. Because links fall off of links pages when people cancel or pull a site from 3WL, the location of your link on any given site is not static.  So I would have to go through the list of all links on the domain to find yours and then calculate the page location based on the number of links per page.

I would have to do this for every domain that links to you, querying a table that contains many millions of links.

I'm working on it, but no promises. :)

Okay, it's done and working. You need to give it a few seconds to load the page, though, as it slows it down considerably. But you can now see the actual page where your link is on.

Hi Jon

This i fantastic - it makes life so much easier! I just took the list from one of my sites and started to grind it through an index chacker and I already have found 15 pages that are not indexed. Now I can go ahead and build links to those pages - that will benefit my rankings because I get more links counted and it benefits the rest of the network beacuse there are other links on that pages, too.

Thanks!

Mike
