Network rebuild is now complete.
« on: December 17, 2011, 06:47:55 PM »
Well the network rebuild I emailed about a couple of weeks ago i finally complete, and the link spreading code has been seriously optimized and improved to boot. That will be better for everybody.

But what's REALLY better for everybody is that the great majority of sites in the network now have a lot more links ready to go live. Most sites have 500 (the new maximum).

The guarantee is still at least 250 links, but very few sites have that few now.

This should help you compete with other sites for your keywords. All of the other metrics still apply (three way linking, diverse IPs, slow spreading of the new links).

Let me know what you think.

Jon

If the network rebuild is complete, how come one of my sites has only 39(!!!) incoming links total, not live ones, but total?! The last one went live on 12/02/2011 and not a single link has been added since.

Please submit a support ticket at AskJonLeger.com for that issue. That must be an anomaly that will have to be looked into individually.

Glad to hear the rebuild is complete and hope to see the live links increase as it has been a little bit slow getting off the ground for my site. Thanks for all the work you are doing behind the scenes Jon.

Great to hear that.

I have one question though. How come none of the links to my sites are registered as 'backlinks'? They are picked up by Google as links to my sites in the webmaster tools, however, they are not valued as 'Backlinks' which as we know Google uses as one of the main criteria to PageRank sites.

One registered Backlink from a PageRanked site is worth let's say 1000 ordinary links not valued as Backlinks

The reason for my deduction is that a site I'm working on a for client jumped from PageRank 0 to PageRank 3 in a few days just because a major football club with a PageRank of 7 linked to his site as because my client is a sponsor. And that is the only link to my client's site but it was valued as a Backlink by Google

Regards

I wouldn't pay too much attention to what WMT tools you in terms of backlinks. WMT claims my jonathanleger.com blog only has one backlink, but the link: command shows 42, and it actually has thousands of links.  The posts on the site rank for many great keywords as well.

Google doesn't want you to know how many links you really have. They haven't been forthcoming with that information for years. You really need to use third party tools to get an accurate view of a site's incoming links.

Thanks Jon. I can see 315 scheduled incoming links,  out of which 36 is now live.

Not all sites have the full 500. Some never will. That's why the guarantee is still for 250 links. But 90%+  of network sites have the full 500 links already.

Out of my 16 older sites before the rebuild, only one site is showing the increased backlinks of close to 500. The remaining 15 sites are not adjusted.

Jon, could it be just my luck that these 15 sites belong to that less than 10% you were mentioning?

But I'm hoping the process of rebuilding for my sites hasn't really completed yet.

How new are the sites in the network? The older sites from longer term customers got preference for the link boosting.

The earliest links for these 15 sites started in Oct 2. That one site that has been link-boosted was setup/approved in Aug 12. I've been a customer for years but I only started using 3waylinks in Aug.

And what does PR-1 means? As in PR negative one.

I am assuming my links are below 500 because I prefer to link to related sites. 315  is not a bad deal for linking to related sites only.  :)

I don't restrict my sites to related theme. So I should be getting close to 500.

Only 1 site out of 16 (6.25%) getting boosted does not sit well with me Jon. Could you please look into it? I could put up a support ticket if that is better for you.

Jonathan, could you please take a look at ticket 21569? Daniel Walls doesn't want to look into the problem, he apparently thinks that 39 links is normal.
