Newbie here. Please help
« on: December 15, 2011, 02:11:11 PM »
Hi Jon,

I am using several of your products and have taken a subscription of 3waylinks.net simply because I trust you.

It took me a while to figure out what was going on when setting up a site. I am now waiting for it to be approved.

Anyway...I am sure it will happen in time.

Is there any way you could simplify the site setup screen?

Secondly, the WP plugin needs some figuring out too.

Any simplification will be much appreciated.

Best Regards,

Ashish.

I think a good first step would be to graphically seperate the three different installation methods. From my experience with people who I have lend a helping hand they don't realize it is three options and think it is three steps they have to do.

Either that or something to suck the keywords and description from the site itself.

I am new too and have a few questions.

When I was checking on site links like your instructions said to do,
it came back that the sites didn't exist. I entered link:http://www.(your site).com
as instructed on search.yahoo.com. Is this outdated?

I have WordPress blogs, where do I start to get the plugin and install it?
I also have not seen an id# for me since I joined, where do I get that?

What is the deal with giving a name and title to a link page? Do we just create a new page
in our blog and name it like any orther page? Will our visitors be able to see this page?
I am totally lost on what to do about this.

The instructions are very confusing, I need help please.

Hey there,

You can get the plugin from http://www.seo-traffic-guide.de/3wl-php-page-plugin/3waylinks-installation-instructions/

Then, install it on your blog and activate it.

After that, you visit the plugin settings and get it to create a page - it will be called "Resources" by default. You may want to change the page order. While generating the page, don't change any setting. Just let the plugin generate the page.

I am assuming that at this point, your page title is Resources and it is sitting at /resources/ location on your blog.

Next, come to 3WL site and submit the domain.

After that, edit the domain and submit the following:

Domain description - simply pick up your home page's SEO description and punt it in.

First keyword - spin text like {keyword1|keyword2} will work nicely unless you want just keyword1.
Second keyword - similar stuff as first keyword
Third keyword - same again

Next, put your page title and link as:

Title - Resources
Link - /resources/

Link Text - leave that blank. That is in case you don't want to use the 3 keywords.

Next, mention that you are using WP plugin - check the checkbox.

Next, click the preview button

Next, save the above.

Once you are back you will get a validate link. Click that.

Here, you will get a site ID. Copy that.

Back to your blog and visit the plugin.

Here, replace the 3WL Site ID text with this actual ID.

Leave the Give Credit checkbox checked if you want to give the plugin team some credit.

DON'T CLICK CREATE PAGE AGAIN. Click on Update.

Now, back to 3WL page and click on Validate.

Page will validate only if the 3WL site ID is correct in the WP plugin.

Once that is done, make sure there is no mention of sex, christ, any religion, dating, yoga, etc. on your site. Do a search and edit / delete any posts that may have that.

Hopefully that should be that.

After that, wait for about a week to see the links going live.

All the best.

Best Regards,

Ashish.

Thank you Ashish

But I still have a problem. In the following statement on the plugin settings page it says:

To use the plugin, insert the shortcode [threewlphppage] into an existing page. The trigger will be automatically replaced with a complete 3waylinks link page.

I have found in the past that any existing  page is  never correct. Do you put this in the header, the index file or where do you put it?

Also with the guide to learning Keyword research can you tell me why the formula doesn't work, or is there a new one?

It said to do this with all top 10 sites to find # of links:   link:http://www.#1-#10 top sites

That doesn't work, what am I missing there?

I really appreciate your help.

I would recommend creating a new page rather than putting the shortcode into an existing page. That way, the rest of your site looks as it should.

Have you seen the video?

With regards to Keyword research, your best bet is to go for Google Analytics Keyword Tool. But again, you will need to consult appropriate documentation.

I think 3WL assumes a fair bit from their audience. And certain things can be frustrating.

Ashish

I just finished doing my fourth domain set-up. It said they were all validated just waiting on fiinal approval after someone looks at my site. I think that means they are hooked up, right?

I tried to follow what you showed me and that helped more than anything support told me. They don't explain things very well.

Thank you very much for helping a total stranger.
