ADVANCED BBCODES: How to really jazz up and format your posts.

Hi guys,

I've installed a couple of modifications to this forum that allow you to do some pretty cool stuff with your posts in addition to the normal bbcodes shown in the help for colors, bolding, etc.

1. The STYLE Property Inside the Table, Img, Div, Span, etc. bbcodes.

You can add a "style" property to a variety of bbcodes.  For instance:

[table style="width:500px;background-color:yellow;"]
  [tr]
    [td]
         This table has style.
    [/td]
  [/tr]
[/table]

Output:

[table style="width:500px;background-color:yellow;border:1px solid red;"]
  [tr]
    [td]
         This table has style.
    [/td]
  [/tr]
[/table]



2. Embedding video from YouTube (or anywhere else).

To embed a video from YouTube (or other video sharing sites), you just paste the embed code YouTube gives you inbetween the embed tag with the proper width/height properties in the tag:

  <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/AcpGcQgXcyU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>
  </iframe>

Output:

Excellent Jon, the tables are particularly useful (and the nesting features are powerful).

Is it possible to get a WYSIWYG editor installed? I'm fine using bbcode, but it's often hard to get the layout right for sales pages (in the ESO forum) without being able to see the change in real time.

I would also love a wysiwyg editor.... or even a way to paste the code from another wysiwyg editor in - this 'table code' stuff is more greek to me....and the help desk i inquired to the person has been lazy in reading and answering....

I am sure glad I found this post - i can at least get started....

How do I paste a Paypal "Buy Now" Button code?

I tried by changing angular brackets to square brackets and by putting [paypal][/paypal] around the codes.

I am trying to make an offer in ESO.
