I bought Answer Analyst yesterday and am pretty much disappointed with it.

I see lot of folks on this forum highlighting the same issue. Hope Jonathan is reading all this!

Here's an example question i asked AA which didn't return any answer:

Parameters:
Country - Default
Secondary Answers - Unchecked
Add to current results - Checked
SE - Google
Question - how to get google backlinks?
Answers - Short Answers, Medium, Long

Results - No Data

Other question i tried:

What is an old time radio? (shown in the promo video)
1 answer

How good is Answer Analyst?
No answer!

Any explanations?

...go to the Google search engine itself and type in your question about "how to get google backlinks".....if you find an answer, come and post it here...I'd love to see it! In fact..can you tell me what exactly a google backlink is?

Is there such a thing as a "Google backlink"? Seriously, I don't think there is an answer to your question. That may be why you didn't get any results from AA.

I asked AA your question and didn't get any results either. I googled it to no avail as well...I got results of course, but nothing that was an answer to the question, nor anything that told me what a "Google backlink" is.

I have been making a full time living online via my websites since 2000, and while I do indeed know what backlinks are, (I have a few, LOL!), I don't quite know what a "Google backlink" is. Is it a link back to your website from Matt Cutts' blog perhaps? Or a backlink from Google's "Blogger" . I don't really know of any other way to get a "backlink" from Google itself. Are you thinking it's Google's search page results? That's a whole different thing.

As far as "what is old time radio", AA returned 27 answers when I queried that phrase.

Thanks for you reply. Well, compared to you, am a newbie to the world of web and SEO. It was my bad that i gave a query like "how to get google backlinks" instead of "how to get backlinks", but that was not the point.

Am not here to explain what "google backlink" means. When i query google using "how to get google backlinks", it throws out 726,000 pages of information, some relevant and some irrelevant!

What you are saying is, AA is smart enough to get all these pages and then tell me "No answers were found to your question" because AA didn't find them relevant to my question?!

I tried "how to get backlinks".... No answer!
I tried "What is old time radio"....No answer!

And at the bottom left corner, status shows "Retrieved 0 of 100" and then "Parsing 0 of 100" and then BOOM - "No Answer"!!!

Now, am not sure if there's something wrong with my installation or some other setting. The so called "Support Team" seems to be sleeping or maybe - they're just busy swatting flies! I haven't gotten any reply from them yet for my support ticket.

And all those guys ranking high on google and going ga ga for the keyword "Answer Analyst" have their affiliate links in place to recover their money! Unfortunately, i don't

This tool is not for me. Am not gonna sit around and figure out how to make AA work!

Good luck for the rest of you who've managed to get this tool work for you.

I've sent an email to Jonathan and the support team asking for help. It's been 3 days and no response yet.

Just looking at the testimonials on the AA sales page, i feel sad i couldn't get it to work like all of them.

I posted different questions to AA last night to no avail. I was getting about 2 or 3 answers (modifications of my own questions rather) and then i gave up $:-\$

Anyways, i'll have to live with it i guess

I've been trying for several days to resolve the same problem...NO ANSWER FOUND (to what is old time radio). I've been using it without any problem since Oct 09. Well no problem until now. It's not the firewall as I completely turned it off, I've started it as the first app (other than what loads at startup) anti virus and anti spyware programs were off, and I've tried it on both a Vista and XP computer. Both with the same result. Anyone more knowledgeable than I have any ideas?

I can't duplicate this issue. I get back a wealth of answers when I use "What is old time radio?" I can't fix it if I can't duplicate it.

Hi Jno

I appreciate that you can't duplicate the issue from your end. But obviously the problem is "out there".

Is there any way you can access the program from a site remote from wherever you are? Like from your next door neighbour's PC. It will mean that the neighbour will have to have a copy of AA to fire up, of course. That may allow you to see our problem.

What I have done is attach an image of what I see when I try to make AA work. The attached image shows the green bars and the "gathering answers" in the bottom left had corner. The green bars disappear but the "gathering answers" stays in view. But no questions ever appear. I do have the latest version that I downloaded yesterday BTW.

I have Meg looking into the problem as well. Yesterday I joined a thread about AA Not Opening Properly which appears just above this thread. Then I saw this thread today and joined the discussion.

I also have an elderly version of Instant Article Wizard. I entered much the same keywords into that and got hundreds of sentences. Many of them were questions. And I Googled my keywords and found that there are 2.9million entries for them. So there is no shortage of questions out there.

I have found that the problem (for me) seems to be Ask.com I tried the default country, USA and UK and used the keyword "radio" (no quotes). Ask.com returned no answers for that or any other keywords I entered. But when I changed to Y answers - a whole load of stuff came up immediately.
