Hi Meg

Again my thanks.

I just checked my AA and did get more questions that in previous attempts. I got about 17 questions from Ask and about 25-30 from Y A.  Still not as many as you have. (and I have copied yours from your post here BTW)

So I have to ask what settings you used?

I used Ask and Default country with secondary questions ticked. Not lose matching.

Do you have these settings or something different. I must have something different because I am not getting as many answers as you are??

Cheers

John

I have a feeling that it is which country you are located in. I am in the UK. Don't know why I think this - it is just a hunch based on recent postings on Keyword Snatcher.

I just ran the query again and appear to have got the same results as before (seems to be similar number and the top and bottom questions are the same), so am not posting them again. I had the same settings as you. (I think secondary answers only applies to the ANSWERS section (the lower portion), rather than the questions section at the top, but I keep it ticked anyway.

The help desk doesn't seem to be able to find the problem.

Hope this helps

Hi Meg

Yes it does, actually. I am in Australia which may have an effect, depending on how the Default country option works.

I had thought the default would have been the US but maybe its not. Perhaps it is whatever country the user is located in.

Obviously it would be better for everyone if the default was the US. It might give more responses. Although my little test gave me a different outcome.

To test my theory I just selected USA as the country. Ask gave pretty much the same number of questions as it did before for me, but YA gave me an extra 10 answers (total over 40). When I used the UK as the country, Ask was the same but YA went to over 50.

I think that, for me, I will start using multiple countries to get my questions.

I wonder if this is worth mentioning to to Jon?

As for you, Meg, I do appreciate you taking your time on this for me. I think we have made AA a much more useful tool by tinkering with how it works.

Cheers

John

Oh, that's interesting, I hadn't even thought of it in that way, I was thinking that the search engines, rather than AA were what was making the difference, but maybe it's both!

Sometimes, I think I would rather problem solve than get down to doing some REAL work. I am a researcher by nature!  ;D

the answers are not popping up... The program stops several times in the process...i hit continue and i can get it further...but never get answers popping up

so I am running vista / 32 .... so i thought this all worked fine on this computor for me...so why i would have a problem now??

so there was another reply>?@#&)&* but i am not at all familiar with what is being said...except if i could find the place if i did it wrong i can srew the whole computer up....
