Screen to download new version keeps appearing

I'm on a merry-go-round and can't get off.

I purchased AA recently.  Downloaded it. Clicked the icon to launch it and two screens came up.  Superimposed on the working screen for AA is a smaller screen that indicates a new version.  If I click Cancel, I return to my desktop.  If I click OK, I am sent to a screen to download the newer version.  When I downloaded that version, the same two screen come up with the same alert to download the newer version.  I went to the Help desk and received a URL where I could download the newer version without bringing up AA.  Guess what: still on the merry-go-round.  The same thing happens with the so-called new version: Big screen, little screen, no alternative other than downloading a new version which if I download it starts the whole process over.

Really would appreciate help!  Thanks.

Make sure you're not running AA when you download the file.

It's sometimes worth using a different web browser to do the download, as that can help, or you can clear the cookies and cache for your normal web browser before you do the download.

You may also need to install the application as an administrator.

If you RIGHT CLICK on the downloaded file you should see a small menu appear. Near the bottom you should see RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.

If you click on that the application should install fine.

I just purchased AA today and I'm getting the same thing... continual notice of a new version available. Download it and it pops up again. When I right click on the download file I don't have an option to open as an Administration.

I was hoping this was taken care of by now.  :-\
