Unhandled exception
« on: March 24, 2010, 06:48:04 AM »
I was using Answer Analyst 1.41 to check out some questions. Got some answers and "Added with References". Got another question and answers but this time, it wouldn't add to research - unhandled exception. It will open the question, find the answers, but won't add any more to the research. Only two answers got added before it hit the "Unhandled Exception". Never had this problem before, using AA.
EDIT. I can add further info using the "Add to Research" and I am then copying and pasting the web reference to the research.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Meg,

What question did you run, and how much research had you added when this started?  I can't get it to happen.

Meg,

What question did you run, and how much research had you added when this started?  I can't get it to happen.

Jon
Roads History.
I ran the first question, no problem. It was: History of Roads - Where did all the roads come from.? (Google) I ticked two of the items (medium answers) and clicked on "Add with References". No problem to that point.
The next question, I think, had no answers and then the next question was:
What is the history of Roads? (Google)
How does the NRA treat locations with a history of road accidents...? (Google)
The unhandled exception came up every time after that. I was able to add info using "Add to Research" and then copied and pasted the link into the Research page. I have been able to copy and paste the research using the clipboard, so I have all the information saved ok. It's just time consuming having to copy and paste the relevant links, especially when I know that I shouldn't have to.  :(

OK, have been trying this again, several times with the same query "Roads History" (minus the quotes).
Because I used the same query each time, obviously the same questions came up, so I got to know which ones had useful stuff on them. BUT some of the questions came up with a dialogue box saying "No answers were found to your question". It was only after getting THAT response that I started getting the unhandled exception. One of these questions is the second in the list that appears with the query "roads history". I skipped that question and only came back to it later in the sequence. up until that point, research WITH references was being added fine. Once I got the "No answers were found" dialogue box, then any answers i clicked on after that, came up with the unhandled exception. NOTE though, that if I went back through answers I had already got PRIOR to getting the "No answers were found" dialogue box, and ticked on a new piece of info to add into the list - that was OK.
It SEEMS to be a problem following an instance where no answers are found to a question.
Hope you can find the problem and fix it.

I can not collect any data with references.. it throws the exception. It works fine when I just collect the data without references. ::)

Keywords: ebay selling tips and tricks

But it doesn't seem keyword specific. It's throwing the exception on everything.

Did you get the pop up box "No answers were found to your questions" at any time?
