Backlinking - IP Diversity, Link Velocity, Link Quantity, Link Quality And More

Jonathan i have several questions pertaining to backlinks and one to "link juice":

1. Do you believe that link diversity plays important role for better ranking and trust from Google? Is it really a big difference between 1000 links from unique IPs and 1000 of links from same IP?

2. Do you believe in link velocity? Since we cannot control how fast our backlinks are indexed/crawled by Google, we can submit 100 of links today and 500 tomorrow and this can take from 1 month to several months more to index/crawl all links (as long as we do not ping them or try to force Google to index/crawl them)

3. Do you think there is a difference between indexing backlinks and crawling backlinks in terms of how differently would 2 impact on rankings?

4. Quality of backlinks or quantity of backlinks? What do you consider "quality backlinks"?

5. If page you have backlink on has PR of 5 and has 100 outbound links on it, does this impact on quantity of "link juice" you are getting?

Absolutely.  Yes, yes, yes.  You MUST get links from diverse IPs, and not just different IPs, but geographically different IPs.  The IPs need to come from all over the map.

I don't recommend growing links that fast unless your site already has a lot of backlinks.  You want to sprinkle the links across the web a few a day so that hundred to five hundred get placed on pages over the course of a link.  And you need to keep growing links, even if the velocity slows down.  Otherwise Google will drop your rankings when it appears your site has "lost interest" because nobody is linking to it regularly anymore.

If you do a search for the URL where the link resides in Google and it says "not found" it's not helping you.

Quantity wins hands-down.  Do a search for almost any competitive set of keywords in Google and you'll find this to be true.

Quality means geographically diverse IPs and indexed pages.

Somewhat, but not as bad as people seem to think.
