Waiting to put up Adsense code on a new site

Years ago I read that one should wait a few weeks before putting Adsense code on a brand new site, or it may negitively effect SEO rankings in the long term.

Do you agree with this, or is this still true?

For a WP blog you should wait till you have 10 posts listed in SERP.

I'm talking about a standard Adsense article site.
