Okay,

So I've looked over the database, and it seems like some people have some kind of automated system setup to go in and grab up all of the new links as they become available.

That was NOT the purpose or intention of this system.

To prevent such systems from continuing to steal all of the links from regular authors, I've put in place a maximum of 10 outstanding (unsubmitted) articles per user.  So if you have 10 or more outstanding articles you will not be able to apply to write more until you submit some.

This should make things much more fair for everyone involved going forward.

Jon

Thank you for looking after the integrity of the system.

All I can say is good for you, Jon, for keeping things honest.

I'm glad Jon has put this in place. I mentioned it some few posts back. It will definitely make the system fair. It will also mean that people will have to write the articles as quickly as possible if they want any more links. There is no point hording links if you are not writing the articles for them as soon as possible. I try to put myself in the advertisers shoes and make it a point to submit articles with the links within 2 days. Not an easy feat if you have a lot of articles but so far so good.

I'm loving this system.

Thanks Jon for implementing the 10 articles limit. It will even help me to speed up the article writing process.

Yes, that sounds good.

From an advertisers perspective I've noticed that some some links appear within minutes of the links becoming available (!) (authors clearly had articles ready and waiting, just needing edited) - but others haven't appeared after weeks, which is a shame when so many authors are keen for links and will put them up within a few days.

This change should help.

the only thing that could be a drawback is some of the article sites manually approve (eZine, for example) which can take a few days, so if one had all 10 articles held up with article sites like that, they would be out of the running for the new ones.

Of course, in that scenario, (as I have done), some submitted to eZine and some to sites that instantly approve makes it so I am still able to get new articles should they come available.

Again, I think it is a good system, and the limit of 10 articles outstanding should not be a problem for anyone if they rotate their link placements to more than one article site.  The potential then is for a C4L stream of income of $50 USD per day AND articles up each day pointing to your own sites - instantly getting paid to promote your own sites!

Jon is a genius
