Problem with the time limit
« on: May 12, 2010, 07:52:35 AM »
Jonathan -

Limiting us to 10 days to submit a url to the My Articles page will not work if we submit an article to ArticleBiz.com ( and maybe not for other directories as well ). I just submitted one myself, and here's the result:

"This article is currently awaiting review. Please expect up to 4-weeks for articles to be reviewed."

That's a lot longer than 10 days! But from past experience with this directory, I know that every article I've submitted has eventually been accepted. So now, unless you change the rule, you're going to get a backlink from my article without having to pay me the $5!

Thanks for pointing that out. I'll change the time limit to 30 days.

Won't this actually create another problem for you, say you put it as 30 days, and there are a large number of people who submits articles and exceeds your allocated amount or have you put a cap on this, so that all put together cannot exceed this amount, then there is another problem, this amount will get stuck for you for 30 days without getting backlinks, am i giving you headaches Jon?

Jon,

This might answer the problem shown above..

There is a way for the submittion of the articles to be verified as submitted,
and you be sent a copy that it is in review.

That way you could have accounting set it up as a pending payment under
that authors (subscribers) name, waiting for the final acceptance
before paying
the author..  Simple in Peachtree, QB Pro, many others, or even a spreadsheet.

You would then know that they had submitted the article and give them a new
link when they went back to sign up for that promotion link again.

And yet not pay them until the 1st article had been accepted..

An OLD accountant!

Joyce

Signing up to Buzzle, I received the message that it can take up to 4 weeks for approval, and then after that there is the submitting of an article and waiting for that to be approved  :)

This is not a problem, because the $5 is allocated when a person signs up to write an article.  If they don't write it within the 30 days the $5 goes back into the pool of available funds.  And the links are removed from the listings as their goal counts are reached, again, preventing most of the overflow.

Just a brief update to my original post in this thread:

Today, I FINALLY had the article I submitted almost two months ago approved!

http://www.articlebiz.com/article/1051269863-1-how-doing-in-house-repair-can-save-you-a-lot-of-money/

It still has the link (  wood porch swings ) to Jonathan's webpage, which I am not going to remove.

Of course, by this time, not only has the new 30-day time limit expired, but Article Biz is no longer on the list of approved sites, since it's PR has dropped to 5.

So you got a gratuitous link, Jonathan. Enjoy!  :)

but Article Biz is no longer on the list of approved sites

Professor,

I just looked at the C4L approved list and dated 5-22-10 it shows as follows:
  • Here's the current list of places you can post articles to:

    EzineArticles.com
    ArticleDashboard.com
    iSnare.com
    Buzzle.com
    ArticlesFactory.com
    ArticleBiz.com
    TheFreeLibrary.com
    ArticlesAlley.com
    Gather.com
    ArticleSlash.net
    SooperArticles.com
    ArticleBlast.com

Therefore, it does not look like Jon has deleted ArticleBiz from the list.

He told me that it would always be updated with the first post under the
Cash 4 Links thread.
