Jonathan,
For sure I'm generally not a good keyboard typist, although sometimes when doing a lot of writing I do well. But at least for me your Easy Typist program is not an appealing solution. Even though I'm not a consistently good typist, I still prefer using the keyboard to using the mouse. Probably goes back to the days when PC's first became available  with DOS, & the only input device to use was a keyboard. Maybe if there was a mouse that pointed quickly & accurately to where I want to point I might feel differently.

Cheers
Bill

Just curious. What do you mean by "a mouse that pointed quickly & accurately to where I want to point"? When I use easy typist, I do so with the mouse. What might make it quicker or more accurate?

Hii Jonathon,

I train/re-train Senior Citizens to re-enter the work place. All Participants must be able to type well enough to complete an online application for employment before leaving the program, As well as Cover Letters and Resumes,

Some have minor disabilities (physical as well as low literacy). How can I get this program into the hands of those who may have a need of this type of program?

They are also Low income (below national poverty level) or they wouldn't on the program.

I have and use "The Best Spinner" and "Instant Article Wizard", the cost for these items would put "Easy Typist" out of reach for any of these folks.

it was probably my PC more than anything but after installing, the PC froze. I had to alt-ctrl-del to try and get the PC to respond which it did eventually.

As has been mentioned it is best for those who are perhaps visually impaired. As I say, it's probably my PC playing up (which I hope not in ways).

I am, actually, a normally a fast typist and I DO see application for Easy Typist!   I usually have and open laptop by my bed but sometimes, in the dark room, I can’t find the more difficult-to-find keys like infrequently used punctuation, numbers, etc.  Having Easy Typist gives me the option to find those keys in the dark, switching back and forth between it and my touch typing!  I wrote this doing that by-the-way and the dashes, in particular, were provided by your program.  I would suggest making easier to switch to touch typing from the program.  There seems to be a time lag and the keyboard is dead until I physically click on the screen text.  Does that make sense?  Thanks for the beta!

Well
It works fine. An interesting tool but, my case, I type most of the time in portuguese and it makes typing more difficult. If we could switch to a different keyboard would be great. I didnt see any configuration to do that.
Is it your plan to allow users to change to different keyboards or keep it to american version only?
thanks

Given the level of interest so far (pretty low), adding feature isn't a priority right now.

Jon,

This product looks good.  :) I do have a suggestion, though. If there is a way to anticipate a thread thought into your software instead of just one word, it would help even more. In other words, while you are typing, a 3 or 4 word idea comes up as the most logical thing to come up next. I don't know if this is possible, but it might be beneficial for not only speed, but also to give us writing ideas that we may not have thought of.
