Let me introduce myself by saying that I am new to the world of affiliate marketing.  However, I do my research and I can thus far detect bull.... from the truth.  It seems to me, as I get flooded everyday in my emails, that the new trend is going towards AUTOMATED TRAFFIC-everything is done for you with just 1 or a couple of clicks.
It's like we are entering a new age as these young entrepreneurs (ever see them on video? 17-20+ years old) are marketing us software that requires no thinking or any skills, everything is automated. 
I just wanted to know what peoples' opinion was on this.  Do you think internet marketing is heading in the right direction or are we just falling for undeliverable promises?

Like most things in the world, if it seems too good to be true then it probably is.

There are ways to automate many of the things we do Article Builder and The Best Spinner are good examples. Used well they can both save time and enable quality.
Many of us use tools such as SENuke X. This tool is probably, for me, the equivalent of employing a full time worker who has most of the skills I do plus a whole load more patience than I have.

The thing is though that I see the output of these tools every day and in most cases the results are HORRID, EXECRABLE because without the skills to use them properly they just become a better way to be an internet vandal.
People who autospin hundreds of variants of autogenerated bilge and post it through SENuke X via the TBS API may get  a load of links but they do their business little good.

The few who know this and make sure that they use use good quality content, posted appropriately, get not only links, but links that last longer and more importantly traffic from real humans.

So, yes, there will always be tools sold by people advertising a one click solution, but the best automation, such as we can use with TBS and SENuke X is never a one click solution, there is a lot of skill, knowledge and experience that goes into successful automation of the boring drudge work.

Most of the time newbies do not realize the steep learning curve
required to become good at internet marketing and therefore a push
button automated solution is so very appealing.

The majority of these automated solutions are just hype or duplicates.
Nevertheless there are bound to be some gems coming out of this mix
ever so often.
