What are your 2012 goals? How can I help?
« on: December 27, 2011, 09:03:59 AM »
Well guys, 2012 is almost upon us. I hope you've had a good year. If not financially yet, at least I hope you have learned a lot.

Do you have goals set for next year? You certainly should. Those who fail to plan are planning to fail, so goes the saying.

It helps to talk about your goals with others who share your interests. Getting it out before others helps motivate you to stick to your word. Plus it gives others the chance to share encouragement and lets you know you are not alone in your goals.

So I invite you to post your goals in a reply to this thread, and share some encouraging words with other posters.

If there are any tools or any information that would help you to achieve your goals, I want you to post about that, too! That will let me know where my focus needs to be in 2012.

My goals are:

1.  Double my revenue for the purpose of hiring at least 70 more people. I don't need to increase my personal budget. I've been blessed enough in that regard.

2. To open up Article Builder to a lot more users and make it the absolute best content generating tool on the planet. More categories, more features, while keeping it simple enough for a beginner to use.

3.  To keep The Best Spinner the leader in content spinners that it currently is. Expand its language support even further and improve the intelligence of its automated synonym selection.

4. To setup link networks in foreign language markets.

5. Revamp and relabel NicheHorde.com. It's always been a great idea. It just needs some overhauling and redesigning of some flawed areas.

So there you have it. That's not my full list, but those are the big business goals I have. I've got personal goals as well (like more sleep! :D), but I'll keep this post focused on business goals.

So, what do you have planned for 2012?

Jon

Hey Jon

Great goals you have there. NicheHordes.com is something I didn't even know you had. Sounds like it's gonna go far in 2012.

As for myself, I'm combining personal and business.

Have had problems with depression for years now. Sleep, diet problems and all sorts of stuff that kinda boils down to one key problem.

So my plans are to maintain my best performing sites (3) and start a personal blog about the journey to beating depression. Get a few folks following the blog and see if anything I am doing will help others.

Who knows how it's gonna turn it but hopefully it's gonna keep me on track and learning new stuff to share and hopefully get shared. Folks might be able to get some help and advice from seeing how I go about improving my life.

Won't know if I don't try!

Best spinner will probably be a major part of that project as it's a competitive market and the publish feature makes it a lot faster to get posts submitted to PR networks.

Great goal. Do something to help others and not just yourself. Very admirable.

My number one goal is to develop thousands of new websites, a few using some of your tools and memberships, I have a lot of them but not Jiffy Articles or Article Builder, perhaps in 2012 :)

But to achieve that I need to change some things on my workflow... and while I do this I'll document the experiment to help others as well.

P.S. This is my first post here! I plan to promote some exclusive offers using your system here!

Some of my goals for 2012 are:

1. To organise my life more efficiently.
2. To be more active in my community.

More to be added............

Jim

ps Who am I kidding? I've wrote detailed goals for the last 8 years and achieved very few of them.

My 2012 goals are the same as my 2011 goals.  As you can tell, I didn't make my goals for 2011, but that IS going to change in 2012 cuz in 2011 I just kinda played at this IM business!  In 2012, I have a plan.  A well laid out plan, so I WILL MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!!

My goals are:

1.  To be able to help with my granddaughters schooling.
2.  To be able to help my son and his family financially.
3.  To be able to move out of our rundown apartment.
4.  To be able to help that homeless man that is always standing at the freeway off ramp by our apartment.
5.  To be able to tell my hubby, "See, I told you this IM thing would work and I am NOT wasting my time!"   ;D

All awesome goals. I love that people aren't just making goals for their own benefit alone.

I've been kicking around IM for a few years now without any success. So my goal for 2012 is to make at one sale by the end of January and make $5,000 by the end of the 2012 calendar year.

Hey Jon,

I am a fan of your products and I am excited to hear about NicheHorde. Now as I read the description, does it work on Windows 7 ? I hope so .. If not, can you add that features as a wish list please ?

My goal this coming year is to get some clients and testimonials for my Local SEO business. It has been harder than I thought to market it among local businesses. Many of them are not into the internet yet (can you believe it!) and some small companies just don't have the budget. Some don't feel they understand about SEO well enough to decide which service to choose from. SEO companies have also been popping up like mushrooms in my area. (anyone has a good ideas or experience, I would love to hear)

But I will keep trying, at the same time keeping my eyes opened for other ways to do business on the internet so it can be my full time income.

I enjoy reading your emails because it is not just about making more and more money for yourself and getting richer and richer. It is more about creating a great product to improve our productivity and about creating a good community on the Internet. I enjoy using your products and always look forward to trying out your new work of creativity.

Thanks Jon

Jon -

I like that you plan on expanding your business to 70 employees. I remember when you were forming Article Builder and you invited writers to apply, the pay you offered was pretty generous, I have to say, not what I expected from an IMer. So good luck with expansion, I think you have the right ideas on how to treat your employees.

OK, business goals for 2012:

  • Teach my son how to build his own websites. He's asked me, and wants an income of his own.
  • Hire my older daughters to do either content or photos for my websites, if either is interested (both have the skills).
  • Expand into every "season." My niche sites have a definite cold-season focus at present, throughout summer sales are OK but not stellar.
  • Double my income to $10k a month by focusing on expanding the winners (more content, more websites in those niches).
  • Create 2 fixed-term memberships, focused on 2 aspects of my business that I think everyone could benefit from (esp. newbies).
  • Have websites that depend on list marketing vs. SEO, just for something different.
  • Diversify traffic so Google can kick rocks when they release whatever they have planned for the anniversary of Panda - which was something a Googler mentioned on PotPieGirl.com recently in a comment (and I shudder to think what he/she meant).
  • Outsource my marketing, i.e. link-building, by training up a VA.

My big goal is $10k a month, after which point I plan on outsourcing by training up a VA to link build using my own tools and methods. Then I plan on focusing on content almost exclusively, including auto-responders being updated and focusing on a couple of business-oriented niches that I know are going to continue to be hot in 2012.

I don't have dozens of websites, I have a little over a dozen, but the majority of my income stems from 2-3 at present. So if I can focus on making the dozen actually all winning sites, I'll do more than hit my income goal - but I need to let some of the linking and traffic gen be outsourced or streamlined.

As for my kids, it would be great if we could work together in this business, that's always been a dream since they could make their own income and make a huge impact on their futures if they start building web assets now, flip them later, etc.

So there you have it. That's not my full list, but those are the big business goals I have. I've got personal goals as well (like more sleep! :D), but I'll keep this post focused on business goals.
So, what do you have planned for 2012?

'2012' I can hardly even hit the right numbers to say that! :o

My business goals for '2012' include:

•   My first and foremost is to do as Jon has been teaching me for over two years, that is to continue
on the path that I have been following and: as Michael Brown said today in the forum ‘pick one thing early
on and get good at it’ ‘stay focused’ ‘learn all you can and  apply it’
. In my case it is ‘I chose writing as
a niche, will be sticking with it'
, and will learn even more each day (just ask Darren123)!
•   Do my utmost best to keep all of my current clients happy.
•   Learn at least a little more than I know now about SEO! IE: Study instead of just reading all of the
post made on the subject in the forum!
Pay more attention to Jorge Chavez (jorchav) when he tries to
teach me SEO!
•   Increase my income by a minimum of 75%.
•   Hire a virtual assistant to help me eliminate the need to turn down request from clients. This in a very
small way will be helping someone live a little better, thereby help lower the unemployment rate in the USA.
•   Help as many people as I can, in any way I can! (That has always been one of my priorities).
•   Purchase any and all of Jon’s products that relate to writing! I have many, but not all!
•   There are a few other things so the list goes on! All simple goals as in the past I have discovered that
when I make any New Year’s resolutions, I only keep them when they are simple, doable, and straightforward!

Personally, as Jon say’s get more rest (I never get to bed before 2am), take my vitamins (which I attribute to
jorchav). Find the time to travel and visit my family that lives a long way from me. Complete the personal projects
in process at this time. ETC!!

HoneyJo

« Reply #12 on: December 27, 2011, 10:18:32 AM »
1) I would like to work with your beyond-cool article spinner, and even the brains behind it (that's you Jon) to develop a "profanity switch" that can be used to {edit|censor} adult language from articles posted on our multi-authored blog. Our readers will have a choice to read it censored or uncensored. This will require a robot blocking code, so that filtered, yet otherwise duplicate content won't be seen or indexed by robots, and our site won't be penalized for dreaded duplicate content.

2) I want to promote and sell The Best Spinner, at our site, Bangari Content Gallery. And promote the use and production of 'spun content.' I want to change peoples attitudes about rehashed content. It does NOT pollute the Internet. Information of all sorts needs to be described in as many ways, and in as many languages as possible. This will enable fascinating advances in artificial intelligence. We are already starting to see it. You can verbally "ask" your smart phone if it's going to rain today, and get a verbal weather report.

3) I want to transpose everything I have written and posted online to date, into a voice recording. This will enable the blind to access my content while going around the "robot" voice accommodation they are used to...and get to hear the actual author's voice, with it's heavy Southern New England accent, in all it's Vinny-Barbarino glory! A second motive for adding digital voice to these text files, is to prepare for when voice/data transcribed content is in huge demand, for those who can see, but word rather talk and listen then read and type.

4) As part of "Project Exodus" Me and a bunch of other contributors to the now defunct content farms, are going to transplant our content in more fertile fields. We plan to build onto it with selections of multi-media, that will make it better than ever before...and then spin out many high quality versions. We will collect passive revenue with it, use it to promote our services, and sell it outright or in conjunction with SEO services.

5) This will all work, I'm praying, to get myself and a bunch of other poor, hard working freelancers on our team, into a living wage, for working at home. Like many others, this economy has cost me everything: two houses, two successful businesses, and one marriage. I'm hoping to get it all back in 2012...except the ex-wife. :-D

6) I plan to hold onto faith, hope and love throughout 2012, like I have since everything else has crashed and burned over the last five years. Those blessings, along with super good health are worth more than piles of gold.

Happy New Year Jon and everyone else who is working hard to create jobs, and get this world back in business!

My goals are many, but here are a few.

1. I've created a new website for my glass etching business.  My old one just didn't function well for ecommerce.  My goal is to work hard on getting that site ranked in Google.
2. I plan to start a website/business teaching people how to do glass etching at home.  So, I'll have to focus on creating products for this business.
3. I have friends who are in business for themselves that have no clue about websites or how to build them.  My goal is to get them up and running to help them promote their local businesses.  They are struggling in this economy and desperately need the help and they just don't have the funds to hire a high priced SEO company.

How you can help.

I think you're doing a great job already with your products.  I've had trouble finding anyone teaching best practices for ecommerce sites.  But, I will continue using your products to promote my sites.

Thanks.
Tim

My goals are few:

Reviewing 2011 successes and failures. Many of the failures were "waiting" on others to fullfill their "parts or roles" ... until either nothing got done or opportunities passed.

So my #1 goal is to eliminate these failure points so that projects moving forward are under greater control or brought in-house.  Unlike the popular mantra to "outsource" - I am going to do more "in-sourcing" - aka bringing tighter control in-house.

Greg
