Wordpress Blog Front Page

Hi, I am wondering - how do I set a Wordpress blog to show just one post on my front page? For some reason it shows 6 posts on my front page and modifying Reading options from 10 to 1 didn't change anything.

hi

This might be a setting of your theme - some themes use their own settings and ignore the general WordPress setting... what is your theme?
