Are all articles Copyscape tested?
« on: April 18, 2016, 10:44:09 AM »
Hi,

Just bought 15 articles and wondering if I can assume they are copyscape tested?
(So as to save some credits on my Copyscape account.)
And if so, what constitutes a pass?

Or should I always test them myself?

Thanks

Note: It's been a while since I used the system.

It says on the front page "copyscape passing articles". Fair enough, that doesn't guarantee they have been run through copyscape. I usually use one of the free plagiarism checkers and have not found any problem.

Hi Meg,

Can you suggest a good freebie plagiarism checker?

Thanks

I generally use this one: http://smallseotools.com/plagiarism-checker/ I can't guarantee it's 100% accurate but if the article goes through that with few or no problems, I am happy. If you want to be more sure, I often take a random sentence and put quote marks round it and check it on Google. You could also search for another plagiarism checker and use that too. I used to have a list of plagiarism checkers but the list got lost when the hard disk on one of my computers failed. :( HOWEVER, that list came from this forum, though it's a long time ago. It may be possible to find it again with a search. It is probably still on here somewhere, probably in the TBS forum.

The articles are run through Copyscape before being delivered to those who order them. I can't remember exactly if the duplicate phrases is set to 3 words or 4, but there is an actual check behind the claim on the website.

I sometimes wish that 'passing Copyscape' was not such a thing - it leads to tortured English on so many occasions. If we, as buyers, had the option to allow a certain degree of freedom, say 10% then I reckon we'd get better writing and with no impact upon the 'SEO' effect.

Copyscape is a plagiarism detection tool mispurposed for SEO and it isn't even the best way to find duplicated content on the Internet.
