Can't log in
« on: September 15, 2011, 07:28:35 AM »
Yet another disappointment with JL's customer service.

I just sent a ticket to help desk, but what is the use of having a program if you can't use it when you need it most.

I'm not a frequent user of the JL products I have. But I would really like to say I enjoy the customer experience.

I'll see where this leads.

Totally frustrated! >:(

Batchos,

I understand your frustration, but did you not get your sign-in email? ::)

For every program that I purchase of Jon's, I receive an email that has my
sign in info. I even received one when I signed up for the forum.
As soon as I receive that email, I immediately copy and paste the important
information into my EasyNoter, or OneNote, that way I have it forever.

If you are running windows, there is a good chance that it automatically saved
it for you. Check under Tools, Options, Security then saved passwords.
Another option is to go to your email and type into the search box the name
of the product you purchased, it might just find your sign in info.

BTW, I have never had a problem with Jon’s support, occasionally it is not as
fast as I wish it were, but I have discovered that when you are nice to them,
they are nice to you.

Good luck with this, and keep smiling. :D It makes people wonder what you’ve
been up to,

HoneyJo

Hi HoneyJo,

There's a reason why you chose your name.

But I've had this membership since it was first started and have the password, and also used the software recently. I renewed the membership recently.

As to sucking up to the customer service dept, while you are correct about being nice to people, it does not make them special. I don't blame them, after all they don't own the {snip: watch your language please} business.

I'm paying for a service and should have consistent access.

I've had previous downtime with the other products and never was given the courtesy of a reply.

Anyway, sweet Jo, I really do appreciate your thoughtful response.

HoneyJo,

I checked my account right after replying and I got access to the site.

Perhaps the gremlins were sapping up your honey and didn't notice I was logging in.

Now don't tell them I'll try to log in tomorrow to do what I wanted to do today.

Seeing that your style works, keep at it.

Batchos, 8)

Thank you for the compliment ??? (I think).

But, I did not actually choose my name. My real name on my birth certificate
is Joyce - and I was called Jo. My Mother was nicknamed Honey all of my life,
and most of hers. It suited her perfectly.

When my Mother died, people just transferred her Honey to me, and to make the
distinction they added the Jo part of my name.

Thus HoneyJo, I'm not sure I would chose it if it had been my choice, as I
am nowhere near as sweet as my Mother was..

She really deserved the name, as she was truly sweet as Honey! :D

HoneyJo,

True, I do have a funny way of expressing a compliment, but I did mean it.

I guess I did get JL's attention.

But I can't log in this morning, again.

So the gremlins are still listening to what does not matter.

Have a wonderful day!

Batchos,

I'm sorry you are having such a problem, I tried but guess maybe I should
have another talk with the gremlins!

And you know if you post on here, you will get Jon's attention! I really think
he reads every post! After all he knows who loves him!

I will 'Have a wonderful day', thank you.

Hope it is a pretty where you are as it is here in the East Texas woods this
morning.

Put a ticket in at the help desk.  There haven't been any database issues at all.  Are you using Roboform or something to memorize your password, or are you typing it in each time?

I just put a ticket in after trying several times.

I don't use Roboform but copy my login details to a special file that I keep on a flash disk.

I got last night using the same password on file.

I also tried several browsers.

Thanks

Make sure you're not copying any extra whitespace (spaces) when you copy/paste the password.

It's 10:16 pm EST and I'm logged in.

Believe it or not, my old password is still active, even though I was sent a new one with the reorder of the subscription last July 2011.

I'll try again tomorrow to confirm that the old password is the active one.

Thanks
