Today, I wanted to give IAF a try with making my first template.

My goal. Very simple one sentence template with keyword total of around 72 characters as the finished product. (hey, this is a test run for me :) )

1st time: Got it all set up and then MacChrome decides to do a "ahh, snap" page on me. Back to square one.

2nd time: I got the sentence and quickly saved it. Noticed I forgot to add a title and description. No problem, there's an edit button. Hit edit and there's my saved template empty. Where did the info go.

3rd time: Got the Title, got the description, got the sentence. Saved. But wanted to edit the Title. No problem, hit the edit button again. And again, there's my saved template empty. Where in all the cyber kingdom did my sentence go?

Okay, So who struck out here? Me or TBS. I know, technically 1st time is a foul. But for my time, it's a strike.

I'm wide open for suggestions and comments. It would be nice to figure this 'seemingly' simple task.

FYI: I woud leave the firs line blank (it's for the various keywords I have). The second line would be a generic phrase.

Sorry, I can't be more descriptive but that's the gist of it.

Thank you. Standing by.

Yes! I think I got it by golly.

First, I read on this forum that it's a good idea to make your first 'template' on a notepad.

This time, that I did. And it paid off royally. After many tries and 'fooling' around with it. I got it to work.

Here's where the problem was:

If I added   ***  for a paragraph, and after saving the template, IAF will wipe everything clean if the 'first line' under the   *** is blank (when I click on the edit button OR the Template Title).

So what I did is typed in a word in ALL CAPS, and yessiree bob, got that Factory not only makin templates, it's saving them as they should be saved.

Whew, 116 words, almost 2.5 hours to figure this out. And you know. It was worth it.

@Meg: Thank you for your reply. I will read up on that link and try to come here more often.

So this kids a happy camper tonight. :D
