Sure, you can expect income growth in a month, if you want to. Go ahead.

But the danger is that you would be focusing on the short term in what is essentially a longer term process. The tale in developing organic traffic using SEO is told usually in the 3-6 month time frame. You might get visible results in only one month, you might not. In either case you should not be focusing on, taking all your cues from, a time-frame that is that short...

Doing so will give you false start-stop readings, have you jumping around from full-throttle to coasting, wasting time and effort.

The way you want to go is with all deliberate speed, consistent effort over a period of time. Watch your rankings. Plot them in Google, Yahoo and Bing, and keep on building. Remember that you will get an initial spurt in ratings, then most that you do will have a 2 to 4 (or more) week time lag between getting the backlinks out there and getting credit for them in the SE's.
