Logo & Text (with Centre position option plz) - Got my 1st Customer!!

Hey Jon, Amin & Josh & team

Hats off to you - Instant Video Wizard is absolutely awesome & i love the continual updates (paid quite a bit for it & was almost regretting my purchase as i struggled to use it initially....)

Client comments:
My dentist wants his logo on each slide AND his website & 0800 no on bottom of each slide..... I said i'm not sure if it can be done but will see what i can do.

And he wants both the square & youtube version of video..... Don't know how to copy same from one version to another.

My Suggestions to improve IVW:
1- ability to somehow do change video formats easily within the project (copy to other format)

2- Text only goes on corners but you can't choose both the Logo AND the text which would be really cool to have. Also with ability to choose background for the text to make it stand out.

3- Ability to choose sizing of text & ensure background fully covers text even if 2 lines (i can choose position of text on slides but these are set sizes & can't change to suit my edits)

Background to How I got my 1st Video Client
Just got my 1st local customer - my dentist. Went with my mom to her appt & asked him if he was focusing on Facebook more then did up a spec video on my website & sent him that day.

Had tried doing the Wizard before with not much success as got stuck on project side & didn't understand meaning of icons. So went home & worked on it & watched a couple of videos to understand it all & took action! This video took me about 2 hours to do with slide editing etc and a text to speech option which was a bit robotic so not ideal though most pretty good.

He loved the wording & wants 2 videos as i said if you want only 1 that's more but for 2  i can give you a special price.... which is about US$200 x 2.... (i'm in New Zealand & people a bit tight on cash here vs US but not bad for the time to do given minimum wage is US$11 per hour). Have put it here to help those struggling to make money as I am here since bought a lot of tools but now focusing on marketing to get more clients. (Mental note - STOP buying more stuff & rather get more clients to make money. THEN you can justify buying more tools!!)

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/C_-rbuL4lKM?rel=0" frameborder="0" gesture="media" allow="encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>

About an hour later he asked "The one with music can it be done for me?"

So deal wrapped except for his request.

Any suggestions for Logo & Text? & how to do both youtube & square versions of video?

Was thinking of doing an extra last slide with call to action & logo as a compromise. Realising i want 2 lines on same slide one with ph no other with site. Works but text background not covering both lines so looks silly!

ps - why do we have to keep verifying we're not bots any time we want to reply or post comments? Really painful given i'm logged in... Just the letters would be ok rather than a 2 step

Thanks Meg - yes totally true it is only when i am talking actively to those willing to pay & interested in my services do i get deals done.

Now working on getting more of those quality conversations rather than tire kickers...... That way my time is more focussed on money making activities. Have worked a lot on my site to cut down the time wasters. Fairly new concept for me to do in practise as have been scared of autoresponders, cold emails etc so have to just get stuck in & learn what i need to implement & do it.

Unfortunately you can't just copy your video to a new format (landscape to square). You have to re-create the video. It's significantly more complex than you think to change formats like that. There's a lot of modifications involved to make everything "fit" right. It's on my to-do list but isn't done yet.

You have two options (if I'm understanding you correctly):

1. Change the text layout to the one that's similar to the Title layout but has a much larger background block (it's towards the bottom of the layout selection list).

2. Make the background of the text transparent in the Edit Slide Properties dialog box. The default transparency is 50%. Just set it to Transparent.

Thanks for the other suggestions. Even if enough people requested it so that I got that done, it's unlikely it would be ready on a timeline your client would be happy with. I would try to convince him to go another way.

Did try the Text layout you suggested - is better but i can't fully place the text exactly where i would like with the layout i want. The extra line option with full customisation would help us fill such a client request. Have used the transparent background & trying different %'s does work well I must say!!

I look forward to seeing options for Logo and Text with a Centre location too in future - hopefully more people vote on this important feature.

The ability to copy from landscape to portrait & vice versa will be amazing when it comes in!!

Is one cracking video editor i must give praise as every other i've used so far doesn't give as high quality end product like this one does - 720p is fabulous compared to my slide screen recordings which have a lower quality as i don't have an hd monitor. I love the library of pictures, videos, music & animations you've put in. Does wonders when you don't have to hunt all over the place to find what you need. Royalty free music has been my biggest pain to find for videos.

Just pushed some new ones that let you set the font size of the slide text as well as it's horizontal and vertical position. It also added two new slide layouts.

Enjoy!

No. You need to click the 'Advanced Settings' button (looks like a gear) on the Edit Slide Properties dialog.

Thanks Jon.

In fact i closed the update notice window by mistake before i fully read it. So i don't know if you have a change log for that update.

If not don't worry i will play with it and see what is in it.

By the way you should think of a way of delaying the text such that a certain narration can be done, then the text you want displayed will appear while the narration will keep going. Just the way you can do in powerpoint. And even to add more fun you can have the text displayed in defined chunks in the same slide one after the other. I'm sure you get the gist.

Regards,
Kinuthia.

lol. Funny you should mention that... we just pushed an update that handles that very thing. Again, click the Advanced Settings button on the Edit Slide Properties dialog and you can set the start/stop time of each animated text block on a slide.

Here's a demo:

Lifesaver Jon!! - thanks so much

- this dentist had just emailed today persisting that he needs website & phone no at bottom of each slide else videos are a no go.

Suggestions:
1- Having a centre, left & right option are great - i realised with a logo on the same line i can't move the text exactly to where i thought it might look better using spaces but have sent a view of one slide to client to approve.

2- By any chance - is it possible for us to enable the same text on each slide too rather than manually updating each one with the same format text?

Looks like i may well have to lift my pricing to account for the back & forth!!

Update - client is happy with look of ph no & site on slide preview pic i sent............. yay!!   ;)
