What do the number 1 - 9 mean in the column for the Search Engine (i.e. G for Google)
It's the RANKING for that keyword phrase in that particular search engine. I looked up the key word stainless steel for the uk and got what, presumably were the top 9 searches on stainless steel for the UK, this included stainless steel sinks, stainless steel bbq, etc. There were a few more below this which made up the top 9 searches on yahoo and Bing (some of the searches on Google did not show on Yahoo and Bing).
After that, KS looks for stainless steel a, then stainless steel b, then stainless steel c, etc. Then it looks for a .. stainless steel, b.. stainless steel , etc, then finally numbers.
Each new letter added on to the starter keyword starts a separate ranking. This does NOT tell you the numbers looking for this keyword, just which keyword beats another keyword, ie, the order in which they won the race.
