Jon Please! Please! Reply to this thread

http://jlforums.com/keyword-snatcher/humble-request-to-jon-17652/

This is the small feature we needed for the Keyword Snatcher.

Jon Can you tell me the time limit before that it can be implemented? say 1 week or 1 month.

Without this feature I hate to use KS.

Thanks Jon expecting your favorable reply.

If you have a spreadsheet, such as Excel (and it probably works exactly the same in other spreadsheets but I haven't tried it) you can do this - which is ALMOST as fast as ticking the keywords you want:

1. click "copy words to clipboard"

2. paste the clipboard into your spreadsheet. This will put the keywords onto the sheet, with one keyword per line.

3. Click the first keyword you want

4. IMPORTANT: hold down the control key and now click on any other key words you want. The control key allows you to select ONLY the key words you want.

5. Click on the copy symbol

6. Click on an empty cell in your spreadsheet

7. IMPORTANT: click on the paste symbol, within the spreadsheet

8. click on the escape key (to remove the selection from the big list)

9. Select your new reduced list (just drag to highlight)

10. copy and paste wherever you want, eg into plain text or a wordprocessor, etc.

It takes longer to read this than to do it.

Meg thanks for your long answer. But i am not satisfied in the sense that Jon not going to care this aspect for the following 2 reasons (in my opinion)

1. Jon is busy on Instant Article Factory. ( I appreciate it )

2. Keyword Snatcher may be a big failure product hence there is no improvement to this product irrespective of lot of feature request.

Note: Jon made few more important changes in KS that too after the spammer sent PM to many members about the competitive product.

KS was highly successful.  So far I just haven't heard enough demand for this particular feature to implement it.  I've seen you asking for it over and over again, and one or two others, but out of 2,400 users that's not many.

All the same I've added this into v1.12, though in the future I would appreciate you keeping the thinly veiled accusations out of your requests -- you might find me a lot more responsive.

Thanks Jon for putting it in V 1.12

My concern is the feature i have requested ( plus some other) is basic requirement so better to implement those kinds of features irrespective of lot of requests or not from 2400 users.

Also I apologies for the word Keyword Snatcher may be a big failure product.

Thanks

My point is that if only 3 out of 2400 users requests it, then it's not a basic requirement. It may be for a tiny percentage of users, but not the majority. And I just can't add every feature that only a tiny percentage of users wants. It's not practical. Get it?

I get it but still want to say one thing

Think you are one of the buyer of KS and it produced 100 and 100s kw may be 1000.

From that list you just want to pick up buying KW only ( that i am doing mostly). What will you do? because KS only copies 1000 of kw at one go.

Still you think its not a basic requirement then i don't want to pull this thread further and

I am happy to be one of the customer of Jon ( because i am always 99% happy with Jon product)

Finally one word i am very eager to waiting for ( still 2 days to go ) Instant Article Factory.

Thanks

All the same I've added this into v1.12,

Just tried it out. VERY useful, thanks. Was able to select the Keywords I wanted using a spreadsheet, but this makes it SO MUCH QUICKER. Thanks

I wanted that feature also but did not request it since someone already asked for it.
Maybe we need the poll widget for feature requests if % of user's is important to evaluate the importance of
the request.

By the way, what is the target % needed?

You are absolutely right. We need a poll, otherwise most of the feature overlooked just like your case. I mean you didn't requested it thinking that somebody already requested. (including me)

Jon must take care of this aspect in the feature instead of telling only 4 feature request out of 2400.

Thanks

If somebody cares enough about the feature, they'll come in and second it, or third it, etc.  That's always been my experience when developing software.

For this and other tools, lots of people have come in and made the same suggestions over and over, and those suggestions get taken into consideration.

If somebody wants to setup a poll thread, that's cool, and will save some time.  But a half dozen people saying they want a feature will not make it important enough for me to develop -- not with thousands of users.

I can't emphasize this enough.  It's simply not practical to add everything every time a couple of users ask for it, especially when it changes the way the software already works.

There is no additional "care" needed on my part.  All that's needed is more users asking for the same feature.

Jon,

Are you customer driven or product driven?  I'm finding more and more of your replies are negative toward any suggestion or criticism. To imply that just because 3 people have expressed interest in something, there must not be enough demand is ludicrous.  Having a poll would help, but your attitude seems to be degenerating toward your customers. After nothing but problems with Keyword Snatcher (especially no Google results), I'm inclined to go along with Winner. You love to create, but seem to hate customers.  Why not consider outsourcing your sales and service, and stay focused on development instead of having to put up with answering questions in your forums.

I am not being disrespectful, Jon. I have been in sales all my life and owned multi-million dollar businesses. Whether my observation stings or not, I'll bet that if you ran a poll on your attitude...you'd be surprised at the numbers.

Having said that, I still respect your fruitful mind.

Steve,

Of course Jon is product driven (if he wern't we would not own as many good products as we do), but
he also is much more customer driver than any Gu-Ru I have had any contact with!

I totally disagree with most or your statements above!

  • First, I am one of the MANY who have had no problems with keyword snatcher.
  • Two, it is not in ANY products best interest to make changes based on a few request. You appear
to think that because you and a couple of other people have a problem, everyone does.
  • Three, You are right about a poll - not on Jon's attitude, but on the requested changes to a product.
  • Four, Jon's support is outsourced (at least for many of his products) IE: askjonleger.com
  • Fifth, Considering how many personal request Jon receives for minor things, I think he does a grand job!
