But the rules only disallow us from typing those URLs in the forum. They
don't stop us naming the site by "title", isn't that right Jon?

What say ye we name and shame those that are guilty. Why don't
we take a vote on it. . . anyone???

All those in agreement please say so and let your feelings be known
on this vexatious matter!

Andy

Considering that the number of people who actually visit these forums, compared to the number of people who are part of the network, I don't think that this is likely to have any effect, especially since it would take a lot of work.

If you really do have an actual list of those sites, a better thing to do would be to submit a support ticket.

Yes, I understand what you're saying, but people have already reported those delinquents
among us, simply to be told Jon's looking into it. And those reports were made months ago!

I, for one, would appreciate a "title" list of delinquent sites. That way, the few of us
that you rightly claim attend this forum, would have a heads up over those who don't bother
or even contribute to its success. But that's their look-out, isn't it? Because as you say --
and I agree -- the contributors among us are in the minority.

The problem isn't that anyone is "cheating" you Andy, it's that the links pages of users who are no longer in the system are still showing up in your active link list.

It's a more complicated fix than you may think, but I am working on it.  I'm sorry it's taking so long to iron out just right.

Well that's just great, Jon! As I said before, it's such a pity it takes so
much expression of unrest to move you to communicate with your membership!

Please stay in regular touch with grassroots whenever things go wrong.

Okay, this should be resolved now.  The reporting should only show links from sites that are still live and approved in the system.

Hey-hey! I login this morning to find an extra 320 or so quota on my account!   ;D

I presume this is from the non-active links fix just put into effect...

Anyone else seeing the same thing?

I'm afraid this hasn't fixed the issue for me.  My support ticket 4635C1 has still been outstanding since 3rd June.

There are lots of sites which are STILL ON THE NETWORK and accepting links right now - whose links pages aren't working.

There is a partial list of these sites on my support ticket (I've discovered more since) - and I also sent Jon a list via the forum message.

There must have been more than one problem here - because this one is still outstanding.

Jon,

I should be pleased if you would address "7Driver's" concerns!

Best regards,
AndyB

Hello,

Reading posts here in this forum, I decided to test my incoming PR4 links. That takes a lot of time. I got through a sample of 10 links from PR4 sites. Of these 5 had 404 not found errors or otherwise could not be found. And so I deleted each of those links and will start over.

Anyway, my small sample indicates that 50% of the PR4 links I had were useless and not really there (if I can't find them by tracing them back through the MWL link for the website/keyword, then the search engines most likely cannot find them either, right?).

50% is an alarming figure...
