Suggestion re non-working sites
« on: November 29, 2011, 10:02:32 AM »
Seriously thinking about cancelling my MyWayLinks subscription, because the broken sites / links pages issue has been un-resolved for more than a year now - I don't really use the system much because of this - yet I'm still paying for it every month.

I do have a suggestion that would help mitigate the problem though:  If the link to the website on the Links Marketplace page went to the links page rather than the home page - it would make it quick and easy to check that the site does have a working links page before requesting a link.  That would be a huge improvement.

Should be fairly easy to implement - you already provide a link to the links page - on the "Links That Are Approved" page - we just need access to that URL before requesting a link.

Actually I think this should be handled automatically. I have to admit that I did not check my links from mywaylinks, but I think if there are many non working links pages this should be a links pages this should be a case for Jon's support team. If as you say the issue exists for over a year then I guess more users should actually check their links and file tickets as this needs to raise more attention.

I just did a check for all the links of one domain and found 53% to be not working any more - this is definitely too high. I files a support ticket and I encourage all mywaylinks users to do the same.

I totally agree with 7driver. I setup 10 links with various sites and after waiting a week for 9 of them, cause nobody seems to accept them they just wait for the auto accept, I find that 4 of the 10 are broken links and some of the sites don't even come up and these are PR3 & PR4 ranks.

I know if I have an issue with one of my sites that I get an email and have to fix the site or it gets dumped, whats up with these sites?
