A word of caution, Jon
« on: December 11, 2009, 04:34:57 PM »
Hi Jon,

I am extremely disappointed that a support ticket, tagged as high priority, has still gone unanswered after 3 days.

I am aware that your support system is outsourced, but as the person with his reputation on the line, you need to know, Jon, that your support system is letting you down, and tarnishing what has been, up until now, a stellar online reputation.

I'll repeat my problem here, just in case, by some remote possibility, I might get an answer.  I'm sure, judging by the number of posts in your name, Jon, that you are indeed a frequent visitor to this forum, and hopefully you can help.

I have downloaded and installed the software, and judging by the software's response, it is running fine.  I get a message that says "Logged In", and then another that says "Working".

However, when I go to login to Niche Horde online, I get a message that says:

"Your form submission contained the following errors:

   1. You need to be running the Niche Horde client tool before logging into the system. Run the software and wait about sixty seconds and you will be able to login."

I have waited the 60 seconds, I have waited numerous times for more than 60 seconds.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software:  nothing....zip....nada......

So, in a nutshell, the software says it's working, and the website says it's not.

I was very impressed and excited at the possibilities and functionalities of the software, but must admit my enthusiasm has become pretty jaded.  I am reluctant to request a refund as yet, believing that the problem is surmountable.

The concept of "User Pays" is pretty much accepted these days, but the key word here is "User".  Please help me to be a user.

Sharron,

I can help you out. When you install the software, a NicheHorde icon shows up on your desktop.
1. Click on that icon, filling out the pop-up form and clicking on the Login button.  You'll see a status line at the bottom of the form that says "Waiting. . ." when you've connected with the onelin NH program.
2. At that point, click on the blue Web Interface link right above that status line. You'll be taken to the online NicheHorde program to login with the same ID and password before beginning research.

Cheers,
Mary
