How Do I Stop The Extremely Annoying Background Clicking?
« on: October 12, 2009, 07:00:28 PM »
Wth the program running in the background and the calls it makes on the server, it is generating extremely annoying clicking sounds every time it refreshes.

Is there some way of turning the sound off?  PLEASE!!!

That would be nice. I was going to leave this running all the time but if I am trying to listen to something I would here the clicking every minute.

In Windows XP:
Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Sounds Tab > Windows Explorer > Click on "Start Navigation" > Go to "Sounds" drop down menu and set to (None)

Or you can delete the sound  "Windows XP Start.wav"(worked for me)
Or you can turn your speakers down
Or you can find a sound you don't mind hearing and call it "Windows XP Start.wav"   for example "start.wav" is not nearly as loud.
Or you can modify the .wav file

I think this is what you call a Super Sticky (and perhaps should be included on the initial download page). After just 20 minutes I was ready to turn sound off completely until I read this.

Stopping The Sound Clicks In Vista
« Reply #7 on: October 13, 2009, 04:36:03 AM »
In Vista

Go to the Start Menu and then the Control Panel. I find it easier if you click on Classic View in the left hand column.

Go to "Sound". When the panel comes up, you will see Playback, Recording and Sounds. Click on Sounds. Scroll down in the box until you find the "Open Program" link. Click with your mouse and highlight.  Then down the bottom in the Sounds area, change the sound to (None) - it's right at the top of the list. Click Apply and OK and you shall live in peace!

Cheers,

ideally, I'd like to be able to turn the sound off of Niche Horde - not any app that leverages Windows Explorer. I don't mind the sound/feedback when running Explorer - it's NicheHode running in the background that's the issue.

I'm afraid that's not possible, since niche horde automates an ie browser.

You have to find a solution for this, my computer native language is Dutch and I can't find the file to delete. Ask your programmer to make it run silently . In the main time I will disable the program when I don't use it.

You shouldn't have to delete a file, it's the 5th one below Empty recycle bin, Start Navigation:

opstarten van de navigatie maybe??
