Site up for several days, but AdSense doesn't "get it"
« on: January 27, 2010, 10:14:27 AM »
So, I've got my site up... it's at keyword.com, I've got relevant articles on it, but AdSense isn't displaying ads that I thought Nichehorde was telling me it would. It's a foreign keyword though.. .not sure if that makes a difference. My understanding is that NH is delivering north american keyword results which is why I bought the domains - even though they're in a different language.

For example, let's say the keyword is "agua pura" ...spanish for "pure water." And then I purchase AguaPura.com, put up some articles and activate Adsense. But, the adsense ads show "healthy diet" or something vauguely familiar and nothing that shows "agua pura" or even in spanish.

Am I missing something?

Google targets ads to your geographic location based on IP and the history they've tracked from you.  Since Google has figured out that you don't visit a lot of foreign language sites, they're attempting to show English ads for you.

However, for visitors searching in the language in question, they will see ads in the language of the page.

Make sense?
