What Will Switching Theme Do To Rankings?
« on: December 22, 2013, 08:36:35 AM »
I see there is a discount going on for niche jet sites, so I am going to take the plunge, so to speak but have a question.

When my niche jet site get onto page 1 of G's serps, what will happen to rankings  if I switch to a different WordPress theme.

I want to switch it to a magazine type theme called Magasin Uno or can I specify that theme to use when I order a niche jet site?

Also, can I specify only use a .COM for the domain extension when ordering?

Also, how much backlinking is required once the site hits page 1 of G (assuming that it does) ?

Of course we can't guarantee that Google will, or will not, do anything under the sun. But as long as the theme you want to use doesn't violate their terms, or doesn't incorporate something that their algorithm doesn't like (too many ads above the fold, for example) a theme switch is normally fine as far as SEO goes.

We donot install and configure user defined themes because many themes, especially magazine themes, have different configurations and it takes considerable time to learn each one. You can, of course, change out the theme to your own desired theme once you receive the site though.

.com is always our first choice. We look for the EMD in .com, then .net and .org.

The about of SEO required for top rankings depends on many factors. It wouldn't be possible for us to say it takes "This make links from these sources." We give the sites a good start though.

Thanks,

Another question I have is. The main page with the unique article on it, is it a blog page, not post?

I'm asking because WordPress allows you to specify a blog page as your main page.

Looking at the example web site the Jon has, I'm pretty sure that's the case.

Correct.
