Steve,

in Jon's extensive testing, using redirect domains (on a separate Pinterest account!) seems "safer" because if those domains get banned the original money site domain isn't touched.

That's not to say it might never happen - anything is possible.

However, in your worst case scenario you're exactly right. It's what Jon's done in the past when he's pinned too fast (he pushes the limits to see what he can get away with, I hide in the slow corner for safety :)  )

So if your redirects and money domain get banned, clone your money domain content onto a new domain and set up new redirect domains as well. From what we've seen it doesn't matter that all the content is duplicated - Pinterest is not Google.

Remember though that steady pinning and allowing natural growth of a Pinterest account seems to provide maximum protection against bans/suspensions.

That's why I'm happy to go slower even than Jon suggests.

ahem.. . in that email I missed out the login URL to test the resourcefulness of our users.

Honest.....I didn't just forget to put it in.  I'd never forget to do that, you understand.....

What, you don't believe me?????

I'm going to set up a webinar for training on it as soon as possible.

The domains can be on different hosting if you want.

So you have a main domain with your real content and affilate offers etc.  You NEVER put the redirect scripts on this domain. It's your "money" domain.

On another domain (doesn't matter where it's hosted) you put no content at all.

All you put is the redirect scripts. You do as many of these "redirect" domains as you want. Just be sure not to pin to too many of them from a single Pinterest account - I'd say 3 to max 4 such domains on a newish Pinterest account.

So,

Site A, your "money" site. Content and offers, NO redirect scripts

Sites b,c,d,e ......etc.  no content, just the two special scripts.

Hope that helps.

on: December 07, 2016, 05:29:02 AM 4 Traffic Generation / Social Multiplier 2 / Using a redirect

Click the image below to watch the tutorial on adding the redirect scripts.

Remember that you would buy a new domain name, set the domain up on your hosting, leave it blank and THEN do what's shown in this video. This new domain would be your "redirect" domain.

The domain you want all the traffic to go to is your "main" domain.

Here's the original script information from Jon's post:

I don't have a plugin. What I do is register a new domain, upload the .htaccess file below and the index.php file below.

.htaccess
RewriteEngine On

# If requested resource exists as a file or directory, skip next two rules
RewriteCond %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}/$1 -f [OR]
RewriteCond %{DOCUMENT_ROOT}/$1 -d
RewriteRule (.*) - [S=2]
#
# Else rewrite requests for non-existent resources to /index.php
RewriteRule (.*) /index.php?q=$1 [L] [/quote]

index.php

You can download the ready made index.php file, but be sure to put your own domain name in it!!  I've attached the file to this thread for your convenience. Look at the bottom of this thread to find the download.

Where it says

Quote
$domain = "yourdomain.com";

be sure to put your own domain name - no http or anything like that, just the basic domain name as shown in the example.

That will let you redirect from one page on the redirect domain to the same page on the final destination.

So, for example, if you want to send traffic to MyBrand.com from MyRedirect.com, with those two files uploaded to MyRedirect.com, if you browse to this URL:

Quote
http://myredirect.com/some/page/location.html

It will redirect you to:

Quote
http://mybrand.com/some/page/location.html

That way you can load up all of the target URLs you're using in the Pinterest account pinning to your brand domain and just search/replace the domain name with the redirect domain. Paste the redirect domain URLs into the new pin job(s) of a second Pinterest account and voila. :)

If you see a message, when trying to login, about a missing or corrupted database, these videos will show you how to fix it.

The process is slightly different depending on whether you have a Mac computer or a Windows computer.

on: November 07, 2016, 03:17:22 PM 6 Traffic Generation / Social Multiplier 2 / Do you need a VPS?

Some people are confused about whether they *need* a VPS. This post should clarify things for you.

So there are various scenarios.

1) You only  want to use a single Pinterest account
You don't needa VPS. You can use your home computer if you don't mind leaving it turned on all the time.

2) You want to use a few Pinterest accounts and are happy to leave your home computer turned on.
You still don't need a VPS - you can do it all from your home computer.

BUT... you do need a private proxy for each Pinterest account you intend to run.

This requires a little advance planning to work really safely.

If you know in advance that you will create multiple Pinterest accounts, get private proxies and use one to create a Pinterest account. Always use the same proxy in Social Multiplier to access that Pinterest account.

3) Like 2 above, but you don't want your home computer on all the time.
In this case you need to think about a VPS (or see below).

The VPS is just a computer in someone's office and it's left on all the time. You're just paying to rent it and do what you want with it.

But here's the thing - it's basically exactly the same as your home computer. It's just sitting on a desk somewhere else. That's it. So what you can do on your home computer, you can do on a VPS. You just use software to access it and control it.

So the comments about your own computer apply equally to a VPS. You can run a single Pinterest account on a VPS without any proxies.

If you choose to have multiple Pinterest accounts, you need proxies for each one (ideally from the day you start creating those accounts).

4) You want to run 20, 50,100,500,some other big number of Pinterest accounts some day.
In this case you're going to need a VPS for each block of Pinterest accounts. How big is a block?

Depends on the VPS.

A cheap and small VPS might be fine for 3 or 4 Pinterest accounts. A bigger VPS might be fine for 20 Pinterest accounts.

You'll still need a proxy as well for each Pinterest account in that case.

Some people have older laptops that they can devote to running Social Multiplier at home, all day long. If you're using proxies for your multiple Pinterest accounts, Social Multiplier will work just fine that way. Whether your internet connection is powerful enough depends on the speed you get.

If you think you might want to run multiple Pinterest accounts in the near future, it pays to create and access your accounts using proxies (one per Pinterest account remember).

If you already have an account that you use from your home computer, you can continue to do so. Just be aware that if you suddenly access it with a proxy it may be a red flag to Pinterest. You have to be consistent as much as possible in how you access the accounts.
On this thread I'll list any training videos, or webinar replays that we have available.

Just click on the title and it will open the replay page in a new window.

Hi,

I think we'll be able to re-encode for you.

Might be a day or two though.
I've sent you a private message with your login details.

Any problems, let us know.
I'll have to get my coder to check this out for you (it will have to be tomorrow)

Can you send me a private message or email me directly with your site login details so we can find out what is happening?

on: July 06, 2015, 12:28:53 PM 11 Traffic Generation / Social Multiplier / Re: Import Images in CSV

I've sent the licensing emails so they should be landing in your inboxes today.

If you have any questions, if possible leave them until the live webinar otherwise I may be swamped and won't be able to get to them quickly.

MonetizeMe is *very* powerful and the live webinar will show you how to get the most out of it. Of course a replay will be available after it's finished, for anyone who can't attend live.

If you are in a country that is blocked by my server for some reason, just email me and we'll sort something out. I don't think it will affect many people.

on: July 06, 2015, 11:32:22 AM 12 Traffic Generation / Social Multiplier / Re: Import Images in CSV

As Jon has said I've been swamped at the helpdesk as we have Daniel on vacation.

But I've also had MonetizeMe updated with a really cool new powerful feature and I wanted everyone to get that. That should be ready Wednesday.

But I'm going to send out license details in the next 30 minutes or so, so you can download the old version if you want to. I'd recommend waiting a day or so for the newest version though.

And I will be running a very special live webinar this week putting MonetizeMe through its paces. I'll show you some really cool tactics with it. It's not just for use with SocialMultiplier. It has *tons* of uses.
I have construction work right outside my house so I haven't been able to record the advanced video yet.

I'll have to do this over the weekend when the workers are not here. As soon as it's done I'll upload it and notify everyone.

Apologies for the delay.

on: September 22, 2014, 04:42:54 AM 14 General Category / Ask Jon A Question / Re: .PDF Manual For Post Amplifier?

The upgrade was finished very late on Friday, after testing and tweaking.

As of right this second, there is no instructional manual (video or pdf) for the new version. That's what I'm working on right now.

We'll be releasing version 2 to new customers later this week, but existing customers get it early of course, for obvious reasons.

There are three major changes in version 2.

The first is allowing multiple accounts for each network.

The second is extra networks that are now available.

The third is the change in the posting features.

I'll be releasing instruction on how to use all the new features as fast as I can. We'll most likely email existing customers to let them know where to find that.

You don't have to upgrade to the new version rightaway if you want to wait. You can also use the new version (if you do upgrade) in the same way as the first version for now.

With all products like this instructions have to be done at the last minute so that we know what the final feature set is/allow time for tweaks/etc.

Hi Rich,

I've been taking care of some biggish things that are launching in 2014 so you'll hear a lot in the next few weeks, but I've also been let down by four people I wanted to hire to work through the videos to clean them up for me.

It's quite a time consuming job and should really have been done by now.

However the webinars will start again in January and the site will be live again then. I may end up leaving it with the current theme just for speed, but I'm going to be using my own plugins for showing the videos and making downloads available to members.

Now that I have so many plugins of my own it only makes sense to use them on my own sites, but converting from those other plugins that are more complex to use does take a little bit of time.
