Yes, as far as I have read, that seems to work ok.

When you got your proxies, did you ask them to confirm that they were all in the U.S? Some proxies may be in other countries if you don't check.

As far as I know, redirect with a domain mask is a 301 redirect and Pinterest blocks those. Your original site may also be indexed in Google. Using Jon's method for redirects sounds your best bet. Maybe you should also consider your site's content.

Social Multiplier 2 / Re: Promoting Other Customers...
« on: April 26, 2017, 02:41:11 PM »
For those of you who are promoting other customers on Pinterest using SM2 are you using custom images? Or, are you adding image keywords?

I asked because I have a realtor who specializes in selling homes in 55+ Active Adult Communities. We handle her social media marketing. I'm setting her up a new Pinterest Business acct. and am not sure whether to grab custom images or use image keywords and risk getting DMCA callouts.

I am planning to use a re-direct to her site and a private proxy. Just not sure whether to spend time on gathering custom images and URL's. Or, go with the image keywords.

I am only promoting customers in small ways, not as whole redirects but if I were doing this one, I think I would ask the realtor for photographs that could be used on Pinterest. The reason I say this is that those types of photographs are used to sell purchases of homes and if the photos are NOT related to those communities, it could cause difficulties down the line. If the realtor were getting a website produced, they would have to supply photographs.

You're welcome but there are other people who showed me how to do it, I just put it together. Hope it worked for you.

http://www.screencast.com/t/kZ08p8uE - this is a 4 minute video.

The written version of this is:
It is possible to run more than one instance of SM2 on one computer. This is how to set up a fresh instance:
1. Open command prompt
To do this, type cmd in “start” search box. The icon for it may appear or you can hold down shift+ctrl +enter keys
2. The small black command box appears. You can only type in it, you cannot paste. Go to social multiplier folder (somewhere under program files)
To do this type in cd\Program Files (x86)\Social Multiplier
This will take you into the Social Multiplier file
3. Now run the command that creates a new instance of SM2
To do this type the following:
"Social Multiplier.exe" /dbsuf second   (second becomes the new db name for this instance) NOTE the space between .exe and /dbsuf

To create a shortcut on your desktop to the new instance, right click on the CURRENT shortcut for your original installation of SM2 and create a shortcut. This duplicates the current shortcut. You now need to tell it where to open the NEW instance of SM2. Right click on the new shortcut and go to properties. Change the target to look like the following, changing 2 to second or third or whatever you named your new database in the step above.
The shortcut target needs to look like this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Social Multiplier\Social Multiplier.exe" /dbsuf 2

Social Multiplier 2 / Re: Proxy question
« on: April 25, 2017, 02:49:05 PM »
I think Jon said that the proxy MAY be reusable several months down the line. That's possibly because people's IP addresses can change, so a home user, for instance, might get a different IP address. I have one proxy from a banned Pinterest account that I have not turned back to the supplier and I am waiting for a few months before trying it again. I have put a date of July against it, that is about 4 to 5 months after it got banned

No, don't delete that file. As far as I understand, a .dll file is a library file that holds information for a program and tells it how to operate or holds small bits of code that carry out frequent jobs more easily. You may need to turn on "show hidden files", in order to find the exact file Jon has specified.

I sometimes need to find the "roaming" folder for my granddaughter's game of minecraft to put "mods" into it. I finf the roaming folder by opening the start button and typing %appdata% into that box. That opens windows explorer and shows all the folders that have roaming data. Social Multiplier is in that list. Open the folder and you should find the EXACT FILE Jon specified.

Social Multiplier 2 / Re: Proxy question
« on: April 25, 2017, 02:10:42 PM »
Do you mean your website is blocked or the Pinterest account? If your website is blocked then your proxy MAY be ok. If your Pinterest account has been suspended, then the proxy is toast.

You can try appealing. You do NOT need a Gmail account. A domain email is fine, eg contact@mydomain.com or info@mydomain.com, etc. You can set those up easily in your Cpanel.

If your account has been suspended, you cannot pin anyway. Set up a new account with a different email and proxy and Use the redirect method. You could try appealing.

If Social Monetize Me plugin was offered as a bonus for purchase of a lifetime license for SM2, it is usually sent out manually to all purchasers at the same time.

Are you getting any Google capchas? DeathbyCapcha is a capcha solving service that can be used.

I often reset my IP address (turn the router off and back on again)

I run my accounts on my spare laptop too. My home IP address changes every so often. With my proxy provider, I need to whitelist my home IP address and that's the first thing I check if I see the "error loading details" message.
