Social Multiplier 2 / Re: Email Advice

Pinterest won't let you re-use an email address. Once the account is suspended from that email, that's it.

Service that report / check IPs for email spam have no value when it comes to Pinterest. Pinterest has its own blacklist for IPs. If the proxy is considered "bad" the account is going to be immediately suspended the first time you pin to it (if Pinterest lets you create an account with the IP at all). So it's unlikely that the problem is that the IP has been flagged.

Now, if the IPs are too geographically similar (e.g. and and etc) and the accounts were created close together or are too similar to each other (same board names, same topics, pinning using the same keywords etc) then Pinterest might tie those accounts together and suspend them all.

Once you did that you should be able to select the account in SM2 and click the "Restart Jobs" button.

It certainly sounds like something you're doing is tying the accounts together so Pinterest is suspending them. I can't say what that is, because it sounds like your settings are correct in SM2. It could have to do with the way you're creating the accounts or configuring them in the browser before you put them in SM2.

A couple of questions:

1. How fast are you pinning and following?

2. Are you targeting the keywords of the pins to the pages that you're sending people to? The less targeted the pins compared to the pages you send them to, the more likely people are to report them as spam and your account to be flagged.

3. Are you sending people to a high quality informational site that doesn't try to pitch or sell anything to them (ads are fine, but no sales pitch in the content)? Pinterest will ban accounts quick if you send people to a sales pitch page or affiliate review page.

4. What market are you targeting? Some markets are more prone to spam and thus more likely to get your accounts suspended.

You need to login to the email account associated with the Pinterest account (use the proxy you setup for automating the Pinterest account) and click the link to change your Pinterest account password. It's very important that you do this using the proxy that's automating the Pinterest account. Once you reset your password update SM2 with the new password. That will take the account out of safe mode.

Interesting. I never even noticed that. I'm not sure if/where that is on the new design.

If you're running on a low quality ("cheap") VPS, there's not much you're going to do that's going to help. Low quality providers will always foul up SM2 or any software that requires consistent up-time and uninterrupted high speed connectivity.

You can try compacting the DB, but there's no guarantees that will make a difference.

I'm afraid I'm not sure what you're referring to Meg. What forum time?

For now, uncheck the "Enable Pin Link Auto-Updating" checkbox on the Settings tab, then close and re-open SM2. There's an issue with that functionality that I have to look into.

Beyond what I've already posted you'll need to put a ticket in with our help desk:

In SM2:

1. Go to the Processes tab and click the Export Accounts button and save the file somewhere.
3. Install SM2 on the new VPS.
4. Transfer the saved accounts file to the VPS.
5. Make sure you've already whitelisted the proxy IPs for your new VPS (if needed).
6. Go to the Processes tab and click the Import Accounts button.
7. Go to each pin job and verify that the correct board is selected. To be sure select the board name again (even if it's already selected) and save the pin job.

That's all she wrote.

If SM2 isn't pinning it's either a database corruption problem, a poor proxy problem, or your account is suspended.

It's easy to know if your Pinterest account is suspended. Just browse to the account page:

To know if it's a database corruption problem:

1. Go to the Processes tab, click the "Open Data Folder" button (that will open the data folder in Windows Explorer or Mac Finder).
2. Close SM2.
3. Rename SocialMultiplier2.sqlite to something else (e.g. SocialMultiplier2.bak.sqlite).
4. Open SM2 again.
5. Add your account back and add in the pin job.
6. Give it some time to gather some pins, then select the job and click the Run Now button.

If it pins, then it was a database corruption issue.

If the account isn't suspended, and it's not a database corruption issue, then it's the proxy.

No way you were sending 100s of requests per second. I think the support person is full of baloney. Unless they provide actual logs showing 100s of requests to Pinterest per second I think they're just a low quality provider and you need a different one.

I've never run SM2 on UK accounts so I can't give you any guidance there.
