Social Multiplier 2 / No Internet access after setting proxy in Firefox
« on: November 05, 2016, 01:08:05 PM »

After purchasing a private proxy and installing per the directions I do not have Internet access when trying to log into the forum - see the message I got:

Server not found

Firefox can’t find the server at jlforums.com.

Check the address for typing errors such as ww.example.com instead of www.example.com
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I write this message using the Chrome browser. How would I know if Firefox is permitted to access the web - and if not how do I change this setting?

Looking forward to your answer.

Hi Meg,

thank you so much for your input.

Yes, I also found them but have not been able to figure out if they offer a stable IP address.  :)

Social Multiplier 2 / Re: USA Proxies for new accounts

I have never used a proxy service before and as I am in Europe my understanding is that I will need a private proxy service. I also understand that I will need a stable, not a random IP address.

Can anybody recommend such a service? Most I have checked out do not state that you will have a stable one and their support teams seem to be slow in answering the question.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Meg,

I also never used a proxy before. If you found one would you be willing to share the service you found? (I am also in Europe.)

Does anybody know how exactly a proxy works? Does it have to be a proxy or is a VPN also okay? Does a proxy give you always the same IP address or do you get a random IP address every time you use the service? (I am in Germany and would like to have a stable American IP address – preferably Miami, FL.)

Can anybody recommend a reasonable service?

Thank you in advance.
