My URL is: (Snipped - Please keep your advertising urls in your sig)

I had a blog with some good ranking content, and I wonder where to re-use this now. I'm hoping for this content to rank again.
First I figured to shift it to my new blog here: (Snipped - Please keep your adverising urls in your sig)

But now I thought it's maybe best to have it all on one central site, my focus site (Snipped - Please keep your advertising urls in your sig) Just add a "Blog category and have the content there, to improve traffic. The site's main reason for being is to support my local coaching business here in Iceland, that's why I never considered international search traffic. But then, I guess that additional traffic won't hurt? And it'll not disturb the local focus?

Also I figured that the international traffic might be useful for the Online coaching, since that's not really locally bound.

What is in your opinion the best decision, on a business/traffic/ranking level?

Thank you so much, any constructive feedback is much appreciated!

Sorry to hear that. Me and my colleagues, all using 1 way more or less.
Here is a good article helping to determine what is going on:

One other thing: do you think it's wise to use that feedback form: Feedback on our recent algorithm update ("Penguin")

To tell them about that? That there's no spam on my site?

Nothing much to lose I guess... or is there any good reasons not to do that?

Thanks,

Mark

I got a plunge from the parked domains around the 18th which recovered soon after.
Now there's one after the 25th, so quite probably the penguin thing. But Spam? Only thing I can think of is back links. I always varied the anchors too, but I had at least 50-60% exact match...

Otherwise I just can not see any kind of "spam" on my site at all. What do they mean by "spam", anyways?

As I understand it, this update targets exact match anchors and over optimization? What does that mean, "over optimization"?

Some top SEO's say keep on site and on page seo going, just watch the anchors...

Question: what about all-in-one seo and wordpress-seo plug ins by yoast and semper fi, are they still good to go? Or would that be over optimization?

Thanks for your help,

Mark

Most sites are coming back now, so I think the odds are on for you. :-)

7
Yes,

I can only back that up: myself as well as colleagues of mine have had quite a few sudden drops in rankings, only to recover same after a pretty short while.

Let's hope this is the same scenario.

What I don't like about this kind of real estate is that some dude can just pull the plug anytime, theoretically, and also very realistically it seems.

Time to reinforce my investments with alternatives to google, that's for sure.

Well I don't know why and I'm not going to start theorizing, but a lot of my posts have dropped in rankings significantly.
We're taling page 1 today and gone tomorrow.
My site itself is still indexed...

Hey guys,

well I hate to say it but as of today quite a number of my #1 and otherwise top 5 ranking posts seem to have totally gone off the radar.
These were posts that had been well established on page 1 for months...all back linked by 1way.

Here's an example:

http://www.tsmethod.com/blog/how-many-carbs-in-a-banana/

This one has no competition and I was #1 solid forever. Now? There seem to be no links pointing at it...

What gives? Any feedback, ideas, suggestions?

Thanks,

Mark

Internet Marketing Methods / Golden Niche?
« on: April 15, 2012, 04:18:28 AM »

Heya,

My name is Mark and I'm new here.
I'm kinda a newby at all this and would very much appreciate feedback and advice from the more experienced members.

I'm pretty sure I found a really good niche, and I want to now seriously monetize it.

Here's what I did:

I found the long tail in Google KW Tool, exact searches are 50.000 for the primary, then there's totally related terms with 33.000, 22.000, 10.000 and down, all exact searches.

Next I checked in Market Samurai for competition, and 13 out of 15 have virtually no competition at all! (very low number of backlinks, etc)

 I got 2 URL's at godaddy:

exact match with dot us, and exactmatch101 dot com

They are on bluehost now. I got a Optimize Press license and plan to start using that theme for now.
Then I want to write a 400-500 word page/post on every long tail keyword, all SEO'd down to a T.

After that I would boost it with backlinks from 1waylinks.net, and maybe SEO Traffic Services (article subs).

That should get it ranking. The I'm thinking adsense and maybe direct advertising later on, when traffic really kicks in.

That's all I know. Am I on the right track? How else can I monetize this big time?

P.S.
The 1 funny thing is that the terms in quotes showed really high quantities in google, yet the competition really seems totally under-seo'd.

Thanks a bunch,

Mark

Ah OK, resolved, it was video mike (sorry) and the plug in was bad behavior.

Thanks,

Mark

13
Heya Darren 123, you mentioned a plug in against comment spam elsewhere, "behave yourself" or some such, what was the name again?

Thanks,

Mark

Looks good, thanks! I will check it out...

Happy Easter! :-)

Search Engine Optimization / Re: Oh yeah, link networks are dead...
« on: April 06, 2012, 05:50:57 AM »
Hey John,

you say "those who know how to rank",

can I ask you a question in that regard?

Here's how I do it:

I do good kw research with google kw tool and then Market Samurai.
I then do proper on site and on page seo
Then  it's the Best Spinner and
1way links.

It works.

Did I miss anything? Anything else I should be doing here in this set-up?

How about those who use the 2 tier structure, with a ring of high quality sites around their money site, linking to that money site, and then the quantity links going to the 2nd tier.

What I don't get is that yeah sure the indirect approach is probably to prevent any penalties, but wouldn't you need a HUGE direct circle (of the quality sites) around your money site to get enough backlinks?

Thanks for you help man, much appreciated by this here newbie,

Mark
