You can try appealing. You do NOT need a Gmail account. A domain email is fine, eg contact@mydomain.com or info@mydomain.com, etc. You can set those up easily in your Cpanel.
i can log into my account from chrome but it will not let me log in with SM2 i get this error

Failed to login using supplied account credentials.

Sorry! You've hit a block (logins) we have in place to combat spam.  Please try again later

Now what?  I've had this account now for 7 months :-(

its a well-established account

Pins = 17,811
Followers = 3,388
Following = 13,560

Thanks, Meg for your help so I have basically lost that account. Do I need to get a gmail PVA account? If so any references
I've been looking over our data since this change has been made by Pinterest and it looks like Pinterest adjusted their algorithm at the same time so followers don't matter as much. We're generating traffic from accounts that are less than 2 weeks old despite them having only a handful of followers (less than 30). It's not a lot of traffic, but then accounts that young never produced a lot of traffic. I'll report back once the accounts are 30-60 days old. That's when I'll know for sure what the impact is.
Social Multiplier 2 / Re: Subdomain guildelines for redirect

What I've said is that you shouldn't use a bunch of subdomains as redirects to the primary domain. Pinterest usually still sees those as part of the site "site" and will block the entire domain. But if you're just pinning to a subdomain that actually contains the content that shouldn't be an issue.
You can FTP the files as well. You don't have to use File Manager. So just FTP the .htaccess and index.php files shown in the walkthrough.
My hosting company is Dreamhost and it does not have a traditional C-Panel. So there are two issues. 1) Not sure if I have “file manager” or how to find or create the index.php file.  2) I would need to use an FTD program to access and edit/create the htaccess file.

What do you suggest?  I understood the clear video explanation but have no idea where to start in my situation.  Thanks.
Social Multiplier 2 / Subdomain guildelines for redirect

Jon, I thought you mentioned in the SM2 redirect guidelines to not do subdomains. Could you explain a bit more on that?

Specifically I have an online store that is a subdomain of a partner’s site similar to myorganicstore.bigredhoop.com.  Perhaps I could purchase bigredhoops (s plural).com and use myorganicstore.bigredhoops.com to then redirect to my real site.  Or perhaps I could get the root domain owner to get me a 2nd subdomain to use as the redirect.  (Not sure if either is possible).

What do you suggest?  Would either method be acceptable?

Did you just mean to not do subdomain.rootdomain.com to redirect to rootdomain.com.  Not sure. Thanks.

We have some preliminary evidence that it may not matter if it doesn't pass. We have a brand new account that's generated some traffic in its early days despite having zero followers. It's early yet, and we're monitoring the situation, but if the traffic continues to grow then Pinterest has likely modified their algorithm to not require as many followers when putting pins in the search results. Could be very good news for us all.
If the pinterest account shows 0 followers vs 500+ following in profile . This could potentially cause  problems ? As long as there is a button showing 0 followers .

Have someone tried making new account and start following manaually to see If he gets some followers ?

Hi Josh

Very nice walkthrough.  Anyone who is using Adsense should pay attention to Josh's suggestion to put a "link unit" under the header.  I did this yesterday on one of my sites and the unit is giving me a RPM of around USD$5 (and it doesn't seem to affect the earning of my other ads).  I had stayed away from link units in the past but I will be implementing this on all my sites today.

Thanks for this Josh, I owe you a beer!!
