About Using my own custom images Vs popular images on Pinterest

Hello again, one last question before Im gone ...

About Using my own custom images - I've jus re-read the guide saying you can supply your own images if you prefer not to use popular images on Pinterest or need the images to link to specific pages with specific descriptions.

Are there any stats or even a general approximation how much more successful our autopinning would be were we to look out and use our own (presumably more targetted) images?

If thee is not much difference then Id rather not, but if its like 30% results of personally selected images then that would mean that finding preparing and adding my own images would become essential.

Anybody run any numbers on this?

Thanks folks

haven't any numbers for you but I have found that i get better response rates NOT using my own images. I have just spent the evening taking out my custom images and adding the urls into the target url box.

Meg that is interesting - so it is ok to just 'skip' that step and SM2 will take care of everything (had hoped that would work but it was a wing and a prayer for me)

and just to check I got it right - when you say "adding the urls into the target url box" you are still only putting one URL in each target box (but you have your 5 target URL's) yes?

thanks for your guidance - really helpful. :-)

I originally set up SM2 with about 100 urls in the url box (on the right) and 2 keywords. I set it to about 33% pinning and left it. It got good traffic, so then I changed over and exported the site urls (using SMM for quickness) and uploaded the CSV file. Didn't get as much traction. I think SM2 finds popular pins and puts the url on them. So I have gone back to just putting the url into the url box and let SM2 find pins to attach them to. This is only for one site. I am doing a mixture on other sites.

I thought they were going to do a webinar on how to scrape our own sites for images.

You can do this. Here is a thread where we discussed this. You can read the whole thread for more info. The link below is to a plugin that I listed that will do what you are looking for (I think).
