All Follow show "Running" since Upgrade to 2.12

Just installed the upgrade on my desktop and VPS. A few minutes later I noticed all the follow jobs were showing as "Running" in the last run column. The same on my desktop and VPS.

I paused all jobs and restarted, watch one change to "last run" status of "running", then the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc. and they all just stayed that way for more than 5 minutes. paused all again.

Looked in the Processes tab, nothing seems to be running???

Rather than a trouble ticket I thought I'd post here first to see if anyone else is getting this, or maybe its just me. (Karma, Mercury Retrograde, etc.)

One of my installs is showing EXACTLY the same symptoms, all showing running, but nothing being updated and no new pins / follows being applied....which I assume nothing is being added as it is constantly running cyclical problem I suppose :-\

Yet the other two installs on different machines all on v2.12 are working fine....very puzzling!

I've paused all the follow jobs and the pinning seems to be unaffected.

Try this:

1. Compact the database.

2. Reboot your VPS / computer.

3. Start up SM2 again.

See if that fixes it.

Hi Jon

Did all that last night and it looked like it had worked but when I just now checked and clicked each account to "Run Now"(as it's on sleep time currently) it just got all blocked up again, closed the machine down again and upon reboot the software "hangs" directly after log in with a blank screen and saying "not responding"....finally clears itself, then onto the pinning screen where nothing is happening despite opening a couple of accounts to pin 24 hours....was working perfectly up until v2.12

Ok. In order to troubleshoot it I'll need you to do a few things for me:

1. Open SM2, go to the Processes tab and click the Open Data Folder button.

2. Close SM2.

3. ZIP the files in the data folder and upload them somewhere that I can download them and send me the URL.

4. Whitelist my IP (104.139.115.43) with your proxy provider (if required).

I'll run your database in my development environment and find out where the issue is and fix it.

I just left it alone and did nothing, just let it run as normal. It is now working ok. I didn't touch or change or pause anything just left it alone. Number of followers has increased and following seems to be occurring normally

I followed Jon's advice but got the same thing. Meg: you are saying just let it run and eventually, it will clear itself?

Let me ask you this: it says "Running" but never shows the date/time stamp again, correct? If so, do this: check the number of followers on the Pinterest account, then click the Run Now button after selecting the follow job for that account. Even though it doesn't show the date/time stamp like the job finished, did the follow count go up on the actual account?

Hi Jon, I checked the following count, started the job, selected "run now", after leaving it for a few minutes in "running" status, I paused. the "Followers Today" count incremented, however the actual following number remained the same.

That is what seemed to happen for me. I saw the "running" message on all follows, so looked at the forum, saw others had the same problem, posted a message then got caught up in other things. By the time I got back, it seemed to have cleared itself, as if everything Haden started at once and had to sort itself out. I keep a daily record of pins and followers on a spreadsheet and when I checked against yesterday, the numbers of followers had increased and the follow tab looked back to normal again, with various numbers of "follows out of... " showing as usual.

My only concern, because I don't know enough about how SM2 actually does it thing. Is it just hitting Pinterest once, and hanging up, or is it hitting again and again and again until it clears? My sense is its just hitting once, because I don't see additional activity in the processes section.

Hi All

My problem appears to have cleared....one of my accounts had an issue whereby it kept creating multiple "running" requests which it looks like that was then blocking all other accounts from using the "running" function....I have removed the account to get it sorted out and now all 3 installs are working perfectly again :)

Just a thought....the limiting of the amount of "running" activities that can be done simultaneously could cause overall installs issues if a single account has problems....I know Jon changed this to optimize the software performance but it could slow down or stop all activities :(
