One of two Pinterest accts to same money site suspended, but...
« on: February 14, 2017, 09:10:05 AM »
This may or may not get interesting, it depends on if you have been suspended and what happens in this test.

I am trying to see if Pinterest accepts "ransom payments". lol...

I hope Jon and Amin read this because I have a question or two...

As soon as I noticed an account not running on SM2 "Authorization failed" notice I tried to log in through my browser, I had a suspension notice upon that login.

I am trying to see how Pinterest will react to my business "paying (ransom)" by paying for some ads. My hope is that they will reinstate the one account and let me run both. If not both, then maybe let me keep the unsuspended account and run some ads now and then to overlook my black hat actions.  ;) ;)

In the meantime, with the suspended account not running, to stop any flags, I shut down SM2 for the account that is still in good standing. I think I will let it rest for a little bit and just log in with my browser and do some real pinning and other actions for a little while until I see if this works.

While writing this I turned on SM2 just now and noticed that BOTH accounts are updating pinSearches, yet I cannot login to the banned acct from my browser ???

So, that leads me to a question for Jon. What does Pinterest see for login info on a user when running SM2? Does it show a login from a Chrome or Firefox browser from my IP? If so, what happens when I log in manually with that same computer in Chrome or Firefox if it is "supposedly" already logged in and re-logs in? I know that I can do it, and it works, but is it possibly throwing up a red flag to Pinterest?

The other older account... I had a Pinterest account for a couple of years with some boards that I created which were of interest to me. In November 2016 I created another Pinterest account for my business after purchasing SM2 and started running it. Yesterday that account was suspended, however, I have not received any suspension emails as of yet. I think that may be typical, I am not sure.

Once the New Account was started in November 2016, I decided to change-over the other old account to a Pinterest business account in Dec. 2016, then run SM2 on that one too. That one is not suspended as of yet.

In conclusion, I want to see what Pinterest will do...

1. Suspend both accounts?
2. Let me keep the unsuspended account?
3. Unsuspend the one account and allow me to operate both if I pay for ads once in a while?

I personally believe that in whether or whether not Pinterest hands out a suspension, they take notice of paying customers. Just my opinion, though.

I DON'T want to pay, and only ran $10.00 in ads which are setup to run this weekend, but I think that is a low price to pay for two accounts built up to a 750k total reach. I will let you know what happens.

Hmm, interesting. Let's see whether money still talks.

UPDATE:

Account suspension took place on Monday, February 13, 2017.

In regard to the suspended account:
-I still cannot login to the suspended account as it displays a "suspension" notice when I try to log in.
-I have NOT yet received any emails regarding any suspension, all communications from Pinterest to that email have ceased, no pinning updates, post likes or anything.

In regard to the account still in "good standing" (I suppose it's okay... the day is still young, though... lol):
-I shut down SM2 on Tuesday and have not yet restarted it.
-This week I have made very few manual pins and follows using Pinterest topic searches.
-I set $10 of ads to run this weekend, $5 per day. Unless by some miracle, the ads work for me and I get a positive return, that is all I will ever pay.

Most of you that are bulk redirecting probably will not care about this. I am posting this for the ones that dared to hook up SM2 to their main bread and butter money-site like I did. If I were to do it again, I would do clone site redirects. I am still going to put those in place as soon as I enter my marketing phase, shortly.

Hope this helps some of you. Let's see, as Meg said "let's see if money still talks". $10 is a small bounty to pay to keep my site from getting suspended by Pinterest. I think I will only do manual pins for my main website from now on.

@ Steve,

I for one, do take an interest  ;)

A question if you don't mind - Are you based in USA? If not, how could you buy ads without exposing your location/address and identity?

I am certainly interested, I don't have any redirects, all accounts go to my money sites.

How does Pinterest know they're both your accounts? People living together, working together or sitting at Starbucks together share IPs, too, right?

I am in the USA. Both accounts went to the same money site.

I opened both accounts as Pinterest business accounts. It just does not make sense to me getting banned for a "spam violation" as I was only repinning. However, about a month ago I set up some of the boards in the banned account to repin 100% using my target URL, prior it was set to "never". That is the only recent difference.

I believe Pinterest did not like me repinning. But this does not make sense as there are so many other SM2 users redirecting 100% all the time without getting banned.

The account that was not banned only repinned other users pins. All board Target URL's were set to "never". This may be the reason for that one still being available.

When I first began with SM2, I used SocialMonitizeMe to pin Amazon products. Sales were very low so I shut that down for a while to try to build an audience first.

Has everyone else with banned accounts received an email regarding the ban? If so, did the email arrive the same day? As I said, still no email on the banned account to inform me that the account is banned. Ban on Monday, now it's Friday.

I am in the USA. Both accounts went to the same money site - what I have also found is that if you have multiple redirects to the same money site, they do sometimes find the "network" killing off the redirects completely and blocking urls from the money site but not banning it's Pinterest account which I find a little strange as to why not to kill it off as well?.

I opened both accounts as Pinterest business accounts. It just does not make sense to me getting banned for a "spam violation" as I was only repinning. However, about a month ago I set up some of the boards in the banned account to repin 100% using my target URL, prior it was set to "never". That is the only recent difference. - you are flagged as spam potentially as soon as you take the visitor away from the Pinterest site, so if for example you had a Personal Account and never added exit url's then you could pin away to your hearts content and never get a ban, Pinterest only takes an interest once you start sending THEIR TRAFFIC away from their site

I believe Pinterest did not like me repinning. But this does not make sense as there are so many other SM2 users redirecting 100% all the time without getting banned. - the vast majority of pinning activity is repinning probably over 90% of all pins, I have personally tested MANY different "twists" on the SM2 method and have suffered roughly 50% losses on everything I have built.

The account that was not banned only repinned other users pins. All board Target URL's were set to "never". This may be the reason for that one still being available.;)

Has everyone else with banned accounts received an email regarding the ban? If so, did the email arrive the same day? As I said, still no email on the banned account to inform me that the account is banned. Ban on Monday, now it's Friday. - I received the suspended account email only on the first account I lost....to be honest as soon as an account is blocked, I delete it from my SM2 install and move on....

Wow! I need to get on this re-direct bandwagon as I have been pinning directly to my money site. Argh! :-[
