Hi Jon

For the last hour across ALL my SM2 installs I am getting the following error message on all attempts to create pins "Sorry we could not fetch the image"....is this a problem at Pinterest or something happening with SM2?.

Regards
Kevin

Yep I too was getting that from about 3pm pacific until 5:16 pacific.

seems for last 30 minutes to be pinning correctly no error messages

I assume therefore Pinterest had a problem

That means Pinterest is having a problem. They've been having quite a few problems the last week since Amazon AWS went down. It's like they still haven't quite recovered. Odd login "javscript required" issues, pinning errors, etc.

They need to get their act together so we can make more money off them! :)

Mine since 5:16 am pacific have been pinning correctly as normal no more error messages

Why do you think or know your sm2 Pinterest accounts are pinning slowly?

Because based upon the daily number of hours i pin i know very accurately the hourly number of pinning actions i undertake....yes, there are variables such as failed pins, internet speed and any actions that Pinterest might affect, but having run SM2 since late October last year on multiple machines i am very alert to hourly/daily variables.

Please allow me to rephrase my previous response which was based upon my pinning stats for yesterday....just taken a cursory glance over my installs and it now looks as though they are back up to where I would expect them to be....

anyone else suffering with LOTS of failed pins with the following resource message "Sorry we could not fetch the image", roughly 20%-25% of all my pinning activities is resulting in this error message this last couple of days.

Yes, this has been happening to me also.

Kind of annoying, tbh.

Maybe Jon can enlighten us about what's actually going on here :)

It looks like Pinterest deleted a whole bunch of pins from their system that appeared in the search results (probably from now-blocked domains). Since those pins are still in the SM2 database, they fail. I'm going to see about adding an update to delete pins from the db when this message is returned by Pinterest.

Ok, after further investigation it's clear that is not the issue. We have brand new accounts that Pinterest is returning this error for quite a bit of the time. That means that Pinterest is having trouble fetching their own image urls, which could mean ongoing issues with their cloud-based servers.
