SM work on Windows 7 or 8?
« on: March 16, 2016, 11:20:42 AM »
I've tried running SM on two different machines and when I look at the "web" tab, I get an error at the pinterest log in page saying I'm currently running windows 7 or 8 need to upgrade to Firefox or Chrome.

Any suggestions?

Does it maybe say you are running on Internet Explorer 9? You may need to upgrade Internet explorer 11 but you don't have to use it, it's just that SM uses it.

The software uses a browser to work its magic. You need to have the browser installed for SM to work. You don't have to use the browser yourself.

The software is 'pretending' to be a human being using human tools (the browser) This is more reliable than other methods as it does not look fake to Pinterest. A browser has to be standardised upon because the software relies upon how the browser renders pages in order that buttons can be clicked correctly and selections made. As you know, different browsers often present web pages slightly differently, one to the other.

And the way the software is created, as far as I understand, it uses a program by Microsoft. Microsoft owns Internet Explorer so therefore that special program uses Internet Explorer. But it's only SM does that. YOU do NOT have to use IE if you choose not to.
