  in my own experience, they are good for indexing and give quite a bit of boost rankings even if they are tagged with no follow links.
now, the question is. how many of these wiki sites that you are going to post to are actually going to stay? 
what is the stay rate of your list?

First, what is the stick rate? I wouldn't venture to say.
I use an article from "Article Builder" with the synonyms toggled from TBS so each wiki page will have relatively unique content for google. The content probably will not actually read to well over the 900 wiki pages I put up for Grand. If I used a article without synonyms the rate would be higher I wager.
 
 I look at the wikis for link diversity first.
As for serp boost, 500 or a 1000 wikis aren't going to give a huge serp boost.

As for indexing I use auto approve blog links. I can post 100's of 1000's of links  for a sites pages and 100's of keywords per page.

Your Welcome. I posted 59,000 blog comments to your wiki pages so they will be indexed. Over 900+ wiki pages it only  is about 60 backlinks per blog. I did the same wiki submission and the auto approve submission to a local real estate site yesterday that was at # 9 on G, this morning is #3. Most IM niches have more competent competition.
