Hi,

The title says everything...  ;)

Where are gone the French and Spanish synonyms, I can't find them anymore?

If you want language support then you'll have to use TBS version 2.9402

That version still supports French, German, Spanish and Italian

I don't think any languages apart from English are going to be supported in TBS3

There was virtually no support from the user base for any language other than English, and a number of people complained about it advertising support for those languages when the synonym databases were so tiny.  So for version 3 I pulled it and went only with English.  Had there been better support from the user's who wanted it, it would have stayed.  There wasn't, so it's gone.

promoted heavily all over the web, the other option is chief i guess, but shouldnt have all that "promotion" everywhere, then just dump the support for it after people are led to believe its supported.
pretty narrow minded to think english is the only necessary language for marketers dont ya think?
ce n'est pas vrai sage d'exclure les fran├žais

You obviously didn't bother to read my reply just above your own. Please do so now.

I'm just thinking:
If i was the product creator and advertise a feature how can i make the support for that feature dependant on the USERS?
Shouldn't i make sure that what i advertise and put as a feature is supported by ME, the product creator?

When you advertise a foreign thesaurus wouldn't it be your obligation to make sure it's there in place and working?
So that a certain amount of words is present and users can actually work with it instead of hoping that the users will input all the words and build the thesaurus themselves?

I was really disappointed with the thesaurus for foreign languages - do you think i'll input more words if the base is next to not existing? I want words in there to use and THEN to add to it. Not having to build it all by myself. What's the point for paying the price when what i'm looking for is not available?

I understand that with 1WL you build up a huge english thesaurus and that's what's being used in TBS. Great for english speaking countries or marketers.
But you have to understand the frustration of people who bought TBS based on your promise that there ARE foreign languages included, just like you demonstrate in your video with the english version. And that they work at least half as well if not the same as the english version.

Yesterday a friend asked me what he should buy - TBS or snip. He needs it to produce spun articles for his native language which is not english.

Guess what i recommended.
Or what anybody would chose if he was in need for another language.

Will this post stick or will it be deleted?

It says quite plainly on the sales page and in the video that the thesaurus is user-built, not imported from an off the shelf word list. That's one of the things that makes TBS so much better than the other tools out there.

So I had two choices: 1) import a lousy thesaurus that will not make any foreign-language users happy at all (and would cause me to be lying because I claim the thesaurus is user-built) or 2) drop support for a feature that just wasn't living up to the level of quality I want everything in TBS to have.

While I understand your frustration that foreign language support is gone, it was a business decision that had to be made.

I'm locking this thread. The OP's question about foreign language support has been answered, and there's no point in going back and forth when we clearly have a different viewpoint on the matter.
