OFFLINE OPTION Please
« on: May 28, 2010, 08:57:05 PM »
I am going to be away from the internet and working on my laptop for the next month.  I was planning on using The Best Spinner as I love it.  Used many spinners before and none as effective as The BEst Spinner.  But I noticed it does not work unless I am connected to the internet.  Anyway this can be changed or we can be given the option?  I reliaze some parts might not work in an offline format but I could still do the majority of what I would like.

Thanks

TBS is very tightly tied to the server.  That's how it can do so much of what it does.  The thesaurus, of course, is collective, and that's why it resides on the server.  But there are many other things going on the background on the server as you work.

So don't look for an "offline" version any time soon I'm afraid.

would it be possible to download the database? Have the option of on or offline?  I'm lucky I've got TBS and MAR so I'm covered. But, this does seem to make sense perhaps for those that don't?

I would find it extremely helpful to have an offline version also.. perhaps a 'lite" version where the article tab is available, and perhaps the spun article tab also. Having a downloadable database of synonyms, or no synonyms available during offline times, would be completely acceptable to me. I would love to have a version I can use when I am out in the middle of nowhere, or when the internet goes down.. which for me is an almost daily experience for me since I live in the middle of nowhere.  ;) When the internet is down, I find it to be the perfect time to write without interruption. I always open the TBS only to realize I can't use it.  :'(

I love writing in TBS. I love being to write several versions at the same time, and I do not necessarily use the synonym feature when I use the TBS at all. I simply find TBS easy to write into, and it suits the way I write and work.  ;D

Then basically, opening Notepad (or Wordpad or NotepadII or similar) and writing a plain text article, with several synonymous paragraphs that you could later open in TBS to finish off might be what you need?

I'd like an offline version too. I spend at least 10 hours a week on an airplane, it would be the ideal time to be able to use TBS.

I spend 4 days a week at work where I have no internet access, it would be grate to be able to use it off line also. May be some sort of light version as another person said :)

Either way, thanks for the software.
