Hi John Amazing software I love it except for one thing...
when i export the file to excel, I usually like to do some filtering and the way you have it laid out makes it very hard to do so. For example, if I am analyzing the top 10 competitors for a keyword there will be 10 rows of data in excel for the same keyword. Add in multiple keywords and it starts to get really messy in there, and I can't filter by, lets say, a certain number of backlinks because then maybe 6 out of 10 rows for the same keyword still remain while the other 4 are filtered out ... however I want the whole keyword filtered out - but it's just not possible with the current layout.
I have a suggestion in the following format:
row1: keyword1, 1st competition website:PR, title, URL, Backlinks, Sitelinks, 2nd competition website:PR, title, URL, Backlinks, Sitelinks, etc etc.
row2: keyword2, 1st competition website:PR, title, URL, Backlinks, Sitelinks, 2nd competition website:PR, title, URL, Backlinks, Sitelinks, etc etc.
row3: keyword3, 1st competition website:PR, title, URL, Backlinks, Sitelinks, 2nd competition website:PR, title, URL, Backlinks, Sitelinks, etc etc.
Essentially this means 1 row per keyword, while the rest of the data is in columns. This will make it so much simpler to use the data in excel.
I can then apply filters to any column, and the entire row will be filtered..leaving only keywords I wish to use in my campaign.
The way its currently setup, I can only analyze what I need to in the application and not in excel.. and I can't remove the keywords I'm not targeting.
This is important, at least for me it is, because if I'm going after a keyword with say PR competition of less than 5, I'd like to be able to filter out any competition 6 or above.. I currently cannot do that without the same keyword appearing in "X" amount of rows.
Also I noticed an import bug. When I push the stop button in the middle of it retrieving information, and I export it to save it, trying to import the file so i can see it again gives me an error saying it wasn't a file saved by webcompanalyst.
