Version 1.42 Unhandled Exception Error
« on: December 23, 2010, 02:44:21 PM »
This version was working fine yesterday but today after two searches I get the error below and can't use it any longer.  Any help would be appreciated!  Using Windows 7.

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

What keywords were you analyzing when this happened?

college degree
online degree
bachelors degree
associates degree

I let it sit for a few days and tried it again with a keyword that didn't relate and it gave me the same result

I had search college degree and online degree previously but wanted to see it again with the other two.

Where are you geographically located, and what options do you have selected?  I can't duplicate the error.

Tampa FL

I have also uninstalled, turned off machine and reinstalled, then run as an admin and it is still not working.

I do not use any other keyword search tool except Google Keyword tool.

I can pull up info from the UK Search option but not the US.  I only had this for less than 24 hours before this happened. Could it really be a IP blocking issue?

It's possible that your IP has tripped Google and Google's showing a captcha form on that page to make sure you're a human being.  Try performing the same search in your browser and seeing if Google throws up a captcha.  If it does, fill it out and then try it again in the software.

I tried this three ways.

First pulling up Google Keyword tool directly doing a search and input the capche and completed search on an unrelated keyword...closed IE opened WCA and it gave the same error.  Then opened software as admin and it gave me the same error.

Second, same as above but left IE open and on the Google Keyword tool after search and still the same error.

Third, opened my Google Ads account and accessed the Google Keyword tool through my account, it didn't ask me for a capche did another search on another keyword, closed IE and opened WCA and it gave me the same error.

NOTE:  for each search above in Google and WCA I chose different unrelated keywords from each of the other searches above and the search I was doing when the problem first occured.

Thanks
Derick

Hey,

I just installed this on my wife's computer (she is running XP and I run Win 7) and it is working.  We run off the same internet connection as we have a wireless router here.  Not sure what this means but thought i would let you know.

I'm having the same problem today with the dreaded unhandled error message.  I used it a few days ago and everything was fine.  I get it on all keywords I've tried.  Is there an update in the works?  I love this software and have used it alot lately for determining offline possibilities.

I am out of town for a few days but will look at this when I get back. So far I am unable to reproduce the issue.

For the record it works fine on my Windows 7 and Windows Vista machines, but fails (without showing an exception) on my Windows XP machine.

I have the same problem, I am running a relatively clean copy of windows7, only installed it 2-3 weeks ago, harly used it and have very little software running on it.

WCA was running fine last night, left machine on overnite with WCA sitting idle, entered a new set of keywords and it spat out the Unhandled Exception Error. Only thing that has changed since last night it that I turned off javascript on firefox as there was a web site with an annoying popup on it I was surfing.

I have reenabled javascript on firefox, rebooted the PC, made no difference.
